5-Star Room for My 5-Star Cats!
I bought this house 3 years ago. For the first two years of use, it was on my covered porch and exposed to alot of the elements and held up very well. (I stuffed it with clean straw for winter use.) Easy to assemble, though it does take about 30 mintues. It is also easy to keep clean. I would buy another in a flash - but don't have the room!My four cats love this house! For a while only my outside cat used it. It took him a week or two to get used to it, but then it became his favorite outside spot. Now that he is happy living inside, he shares the house with his two brothers and sister. Quite often there is one large cat sleeping on the bottom level, while one or two are on the balcony doing "guard duty" at the window! Every one who sees the house comments on the attractive and fun design, esp. the balcony. This house is worth the price!

My dogs love this lookout post!
I have had this pet house for four-and-a-half years and it is still going strong. It is great for relatively small dogs, I'd say up to 15-20 lbs. I put a square dog bed with bolster sides on top to make it comfy, and my two chihuahuas, 7 lbs and 4 lbs, are usually up there together enjoying each other's company. There's plenty of room for both. They can both easily climb the steps and get into the bed.The house is next to the main front window in my house, and my dogs use the top deck as a lookout perch. It is absolutely their favorite place -- if I'm looking for them in the house that's the first place I check. They watch the bikers, dog walkers, cats, etc. go by and bark at them. Great entertainment for them (even if a little loud for me.) Neither one of them likes to stay in the little room underneath (although sometimes the littlest one hides in it when she knows she's been bad), but it is perfect for storing dog toys. Very Cute !
Very attractive doghouse. This can easily crossover as a chicken or duck coop. My chicken coop had an electrical fire. Decided no more heatlamps so got this doghouse because when the birds huddled together in it, it will keep them warm. Just have to add a few things to it to turn it into a functional coop (add cinder blocks, ramp, shelves, wedge to keep door partially open or cut bottom part of door). Was looking at other coops online and this can do the trick for 6 chickens easily. Took my handyman all of a half hour to put together.Update: 10-18-2011. Being I had someone weatherproof seal the outside, it is holding up well. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU SEAL THE OUTSIDE TO MAKE IT LAST AND LOOK SOMEWHAT SHINY. It is not difficult getting the chicken eggs out of this If making it a coop, just put hay in it and the chickens lay their eggs in it.UPDATE: May 2012. I have bought this in March of 2011. Works well as a duck house/coop!
I don't know how this house would hold up against our 70+ lb Labrador, but it works great for our ducks!We have 3 pet ducks who need to be protected from predators at night. Great House!
I purchased two of these houses for my dogs. They were very easy to assemble and are very study once put together. My dogs weigh 110 lbs and 80 lbs and both fit easily inside their house. I was afraid that they might chew on them because they were made of wood but I learned from my vet that this type of wood serves two purposes, it deters them from chewing because it taste horrible to them and cedar is a natural repelent for fleas. The roof is great and keeps the weather out nicely, the floor is raised off the ground and the legs have protective, platic feet to keep the moisture out. It is still wood though so I would suggest using a water repelent on the outside just for added protection. They are two years old now and still look as good as the day I bought them!

Cute, roomy, but smelly
When I picked up the box from the UPS store it smelled really bad. The best way I can describe it is moth balls that you would put in a closet. I put it in my trunk and could smell it inside my car. When I took it in and we assembled it the whole house smelled after leaving it in the living room overnight. I'm don't know if it is the stain or what but it still smells. It is currently outside on the porch. I'm hoping it will air out over time because the cats don't even want to go in it. I'm guessing they don't like the smell either.The house is cute and a good size but not being used and I am a little disappointed. I'd honestly like to return it.

Ice Cream House
Cute house, but the workmenship not that great. Glue is visable were they have the trimming on the side panels. Try to assemble the house was bit interesting. There are no holes on all the side panels to screw the nails in. You just have to be very careful to make sure you adjust the sides correctly before you screw the nails into the wood. There are no screws for the bottom piece of the house to connect to the side panels. I guess it is a good idea, because if the dog makes a mess, you can clean it. Lift the house clean it and then put it back on top of the base.

great dog house for a great price
I bought two of these recently to house some outdoor cats who took to it immediately specially having the two ways to exit the dog house so that they never feel trapped by any racoons or predators.I put them together in under 7 minutes each. Amazing clear and easy to do.Feels sturdy too.The roof is like some sort of chunky spray on tar bits which are weather proof. I would recommend you caulk the joints and the areas around the screw heads to avoid leaks. I'll update after we get through a winter.

Great house for a great price!
Got this for 2 kittens that were born under my deck for the winter. Putting this together was extremely simple and straightforward. Smelled great too. I bought a heated pad for the bottom for the kitties to be warmer in the winter. For anyone with a small dog and wants a good dog house, this is perfect. There are levelers and plastic caps on the bottom of the legs which also help it stay above any wetness that might cause the wood to decay if it was just on the ground. I also put styrofoam on the insides to keep the inside warmer for them and block the window.

Not so tough.... but good looking
We purchased the medium size dog house for our 30 lb dog as a dog kennel/indoor dog house. It arrived ok, the bolts, screws, washers etc... were scattered throughout the box. Apparently all the bags broke - but all the pieces were accounted for and I was able to put it together without any issues. The dog house looks great, but I would not recommend it for outdoor use or to contain a large dog. The first time I locked the door, my 8 month old tibetan terrier bit the flimsy soft wood bars off the door and escaped within 5 minutes. I plan to keep the dog house, but I will likely make my own door, replace the hinges, lock, and replace or beef up the side window to contain my mini escape artist. I guess I should also mention the smell of the wood/stain; it is quite strong which may subside over time. The smell is not bad, it is just strong. Maybe that is why our dog wanted out so bad? Hmmm?. I would give this product 4.5 stars on looks, and 2.5 stars on quality/durability...

The dog house is easy to assemble and is a quality product. I have two Labs and they fit inside together with no problem. I got it on Amazon for $199 with free shipping which was a great deal. I don't think I would have paid the $400+ regular price though.

perfect for my dogs
this is perfect for my 2 dogs who are outside most of the day. it is plenty big enough for my 30lb dog and my 15lb dog to sleep in together. we carpeted the interior just to make it a little cozier and the carpet has stayed dry through many rain storms (the dogs stay in our house when it rains). we also noticed slight gaps in the floor but I think they were put there on purpose for ventilaton. I really like that it is off the ground unlike dogloos. my dogs seem to like it and we love how cute it is.... everyone that has been over to our house says how spoiled our dogs are for having such a extravagant dog house.

Very good product for pets.
I have two medium size dogs. Large size of this product is perfect for them.Assembly was very simple. After the whole assembly, we found some gap in the flooring. This is the only reason I rated this product with 4 stars. I covered that gap by putting vinyl flooring on top of that. There are snakes in our area so it was necessary to cover the gap. Otherwise, it is an excellent product. Great outdoor decor. Our dogs love it.I will highly recommend this product to all the pet owners.
