I have used this device on myself and my cats for the last 2 years, removing approximately 5 attached ticks with it. It is about as simple and small as it gets and it works very well. I keep it on my key chain. It eliminates the chances of leaving the head attached or crushing it with tweezers

great tick puller
This was recommended by my veterinarian in California. It easily pulls ticks from my dogs in California. It doesn't work as easily on the very tiny ticks that are in Maryland. Here it is easier to put a couple drops of dish soap to cover the ticks body and then use tweezers.

All of the sudden we had a tick problem. We live in S Florida in a well landscaped community. We've lived here for five years and we've found one tick on our Boxer who goes on runs with us and goes to the dog park. We have used advantix in the past but not regularly because my poor boy gets all mopey for two days. Any way about four weeks ago I found a tiny tick so advatix and virbac lotion went on. Every day there after we had found 1 to 5 ticks after each walk! I also have a very old cocker spaniel who is impossible to check thoroughly due to her hair but she was also advatix treated and lotioned as well and the poor girl had ticks! I brought this natural spray home mostly because I was desperate and felt like I was overloading them with chemicals day in and day out. I needed something that I could use in between lotion days and monthly drops only hoping to manage the issue. WELL, no ticks! Not one!! I wish I would've tried this stuff earlier. Works great - but best if you apply on the paws
I have used this product as directed for several years... It helped with ticks but not completely. I obtained better results by applying it against the direction of hair growth.Yet, it was necessary to use it even with prescription tick and flea stuff. (Our forests have become much more tick infested in the last five years!!!). Still, one to three ticks always seemed to overcome all of these chemicals.However, I have now found it best not to spray the dog's belly, but to spray a reasonable amount on a shop towel (which I reserve for this purpose inside a tupperware) and then apply it *only* to the paws (all four) and between fingers (each and every finger).By applying on the paws, I have reduced an average of 1-3 ticks per daily one mile walk on tick-infested zones down to zero per trip.Folks seem to believe that ticks stand on blades of grass and climb on from there... That might happen, but... in 1+ years experience of doing as above,... Top to learn more

Have used this product on our min pin and it does keep the fleas and ticks away. Havent found one on her yet this year. It is a little greasy, but it goes away with a couple days. Just started using it on our golden retriever pup. I like the smell of it, but it is strong. I dont like putting chemicals on the dogs, so this is a much better alternative. Top to learn more

not so bad for cats at all
We have used this formula of plant oils to treat our 4 outdoor cats for years now. The first time using it, the cats did react shocked by the odor and quite obviously disliked the taste even more when they tried to lick it off. After sulking quite dramatically for a day they were just fine again, and have since become used to it. They do not try to lick it off anymore the first day, and groom a bit more vigorously the second day after application.They are treated around once a month, and the product IS very effective. Our cats are part of a seemingly wider cat community, and of course the male cats tend to wander quite a bit. If we do not use the flea spray our cats will eventually start scratching. We have toddlers and kids in the house, and are therefore wary of some of the other insect poisons useful to treat cats. Those may be odorless and tasteless, but even the permethrins have been strongly implicated to have some relation to Alzheimers. Why risk it... Top to learn more

Much easier than trying to pry a tick out with tweezers - good price too! You'll want this on hand when you need it
This little gadget does actually work most of the time. My Vet charges $8 each for this and he can't keep them on the shelves. I can't say that the device is perfect, but it sure beats trying to get those things off any other way. it's far more reliable than any of the tweezer type gadets being promoted as Tick removers.The tick twister works best when the tick is engorged (and looking like an ugly grey raisin). If the tick is still feeding and not yet fully engorged, it's a little bit harder to get off but not impossible. However, even noting that, most of the time when you find a tick on your dog, it's either not bitten them yet or, sadly, has already had a feast. Always check under your pet's collar during tick season or after a walk in a tick infested area. It's easier to dislodge the tick the quicker you find them.The little prong device is good at sliding around the tick so that when you apply pressure, you release the whole tick and don't leave the... This device works exactly as advertised and is the best device that I have used for removing ticks from my cat and, occasionally, my wife. The mouth parts come out intact and the animal is not hurt in any way. Tweezers or other devices often leave the mouth parts in the skin and increase the risk of infection. This devise truly works. I've used every contraption and concoction ever invented to remove ticks that have infested themselves into my dogs, and the Tick Twister is easily the easiest and most effective tool I've discovered. After reading a lot of articles about the pros and cons of garlic I have found that the use of granulated garlic powder is easier to digest for pets, it is commonly used in treats and holistic foods, and it is easier to control the amount a pet... It is merely suggestion , but if the flea and tick issues are that bad where you live then yes perhaps the stronger items available is the only way to go. There are some people that I know who have rarely had a flea or tick issue that are worried... One of the best ways to use the garlic powder rather that starting off with it right in your dogs food is to make some homemade chicken, turkey or beef jerky and add a bit of olive oil infused with some garlic or just some straight garlic powder... After an expressed concern about going the all natural route I am going to add the following as a side note: The all natural hints and suggestions will never totally kill of fleas or totally deter them, but used with a good flea shampoo, all... Grate a small amount of fresh, raw garlic into your pet's food at mealtime, about one-half to 3 chambers of the clove (chamber, not a whole clove) depending on the animal's size. ** Fresh garlic in small quantities can help repel fleas by making the animal taste unpleasant to fleas. Food grade DE is a powder that dehydrates fleas and ticks within 72 hours of them coming in contact with it. My dad and I would rub it into his cats' fur and we also used it on my Chihuahua. I want to add that food grade Diatomaceous Earth is another nice natural way of getting rid of fleas and ticks.
