This stain pen is the best stain remover I've ever seen. To date I've removed:* Coffee* Blood* Coke* Tomato Sauce* Tobasco Sauce* Chinese Brown Sauce* Ink* GreaseI've found that this pen works better if the stain sits for a few minutes until dry before using. I know that sounds goofy, who wants to let the stain sit?? However, in this case, it's better and the pen works great. I have one at work, one at home and one in my purse for 'emergencies'.

BEST product in eons
Went to a wedding, wearing a white linen dress. Washable linen, but I mean really--having dumped my second glass of red wine on me--that was too much of a challenge. Pulled my pen out and went crazy...it all came out. Then and There. I could have sold a lot of these given everyone could see the magic. Will buy another 1/2 dozen on Amazon NOW...you cannot have too much of this wonderful product.

Works well but not as instant as the commercials made it seem
Yes, I know that you should allow a few minutes to lapse while you are using the product. But I'd let a few minutes pass & after rubbing with the pen & using the stuff, it actually took much longer for the stain (blueberry pancake syrup) to dissapear. It did dissapear, but it took much longer to do than the 3 minutes the commercial said it did.That small & petty complaint aside, I love this thing. Since I frequently have problems getting stains on the white shirts my workplace makes me wear, this is a godsend. No more having to put up with coffee or juice stains on my work shirts! Yay! (Now if it would only work better on pen marks!)EDIT:Now I think I'd mark it as a 3.5 or a 3 star if I could. I tried using it on some red Crystal Light stains right after they were made. The stick barely got most of the stain & I had to go over it several times before any real progress was made. I'd gotten to the stains fresh & it wasn't like the stains were sopping...

I have not been this pleased with a book purchase in a long time! I read a piece in The New York Times that sparked my interest and purchased Field Guide to Stains. And let me say, that the stain removal techinques I've tried really work! What's more it's an interesting read and the close-up photos of the stains are not only hilarious, but very useful for identification. This book will get a lot of use around my house.

The Queen of Laundry Boo-Boos
I'm not the best in the laundry room...don't even get a bottle of bleach around me, I'll ruin something everytime. But, I've very good at getting something on my clothes. This book is fabulous. Every time I have a stain, new or old, I refer to the book and follow the instructions to a T. Each time the stain is removed.Yesterday, I had a roller ball ink pen sticking out the bottom of a purse and, of course, I had five 10 inch marks all over the back of my hips on my BRAND NEW white pants. Sure enough, I got out the book, indexed ink and followed the directions. I could not believe the stain just got pulled off onto the other cloth.I keep the book in the laundry room above the washer!

Amazing cheap cleaning formulas that work better than store
I have been so impressed with this little book that I originally found at my grocery store in the book section that I am online to buy some for friends and family as they all keep hounding me on how it was again that I got out "that" particular stain or "this" particular stain. I have gotten dried on chocolate stains out of childrens clothing and a whole bottle of hersheys syrup out of beige carpeting with her all purpose spotter. If you have kids - GET THIS BOOK! Specific Advice for Each Type of Laundry Stain
I decided that I'd like to buy a guide to stains for the laundry room. I started by checking out some books at the library. I wanted to see some stain books in person, to make my decision.Stain Rescue! The A to Z Guide, by Good Housekeeping was not my choice. Too many of the entries told me to simply, "use a commercial stain remover." Well, I could have guessed that. I wanted specific advice for each type of stain. This book said to treat all laundry stains the same way, with a commercial stain remover, and only gave specific advice if the stain is on carpet, upholstery, etc. Not for me.The Field Guide to Stains DID have specific advice, but was also a little too "fluffy" for me. The little bits of humor -- there were simply too many of them for my taste -- seemed to get in the way of the great information. There was a section of color photos showing what stains look like, but I think I can usually tell what the stain is by looking. That might be very helpful...

Monday morning, busy day. Stupid travel mug drips coffee all over my white pants. SHOUT WIPES to the rescue! Actually took the coffee stain right off white cotton. I have a carpet cleaning business and I have tried numerous other products. I feel Spot Shot is the best. I get all sorts of stains ranging from lipstick to pet dropping. The comment I hear the most is how wonderful the product smells. This is before the job is done. Then when the owner walks into the room he/she is amazed at the difference in the carpets appearance.The first time I tried the product I didn't follow the instructions. I let the product sit on the carpet way too long. The product turned the stains to an off-white color and I thought I was going to leave the house without getting paid. However, when I went over the stains with my extractor the off-white discoloration went away along with the stains. really works
My house has wall-to-wall white & beige carpeting. And I hate to clean. Every once in a while I get a little stain on my carpet that I can't get out which is really annoying. I tried a couple other products that didn't do the job. Today I picked up Spot Shot and it was amazing! I had a small black stain (I think oil) that was on my carpet for the past year and within a few seconds it was gone! I also had a couple other small stains that were a snap to get rid of as well. All I had to do was spray the stain with a couple shots of Spot Shot and then scrub/blot it with a damp/wet towel and it was out almost immediately! I recommend this to anyone that has wall-to-wall carpeting, especially light colors!

Red wine, white shag carpet
Pros: Works, and is instantCons: ?So, I didn't use this product for a "spot" but rather a disaster.I made a large glass jar of red wine sangria for my own housewarming party. I'll spare the details, but metal ladle + glass jar = big hole in the side of glass jar and all 2 gallons flooding onto my hardwood floors, spreading quickly to the living room where it drenched my new white/beige shag. (what a sad way to start a housewarming party! Luckily the party was still a hit). We mopped up with towels, poured a whole container of salt over the area (as a guest suggested) and left it for the next day.Next day, a lot of attempts to clean it up, and nothing worked. I went out and bought spot shot as a last attempt before calling an expensive cleaning service. I don’t know about you but when my girls where going to school, (now my husband) ball point ink stains were a daily occurrence. My husband is always looking at me with that expression”Who Me” when I find a ink stain on his shirt or pants.

A friend even gifted me a stain removing pen that I carry with me. To remove coffee stains just flush the area with lemon juice or white vinegar. Egg or blood – Gently lift up any egg that’s left behind making sure not to work it in. As for blood, run the stain under cold water to get rid of excess blood. Aside from wearing an apron now, I’ve also learned to combat spots without the use of expensive store bought stain removers. Then use diluted dish washing detergent on the stain, and let it sit. Make sure not to rub in the lipstick as it will make it harder to remove. Lipstick – Use a spoon to remove excess lipstick. Grease – Work dish washing liquid on the stain. If the stain remains, treat the area with an enzyme detergent. Mud – I’ve had to remove mud from my sister’s Tom shoes several times. Before tackling any stains make sure to read the cleaning instructions of garments. Coffee – I’m notorious for coffee stains.

The point of this is to remove the stain from the carpet so be careful not to rub or push the tissues into the carpet as this can push the stain deeper into your carpet making it difficult to completely remove the spillage from your carpet.
