it's a keeper
When I first put this on my dog, she went immediately out the door and proceeded to bark for the next 5 minutes at the neighbor's dog. I switched it to buzz, and she continued to bark as much as before. I was thinking "Oh, bother, it's not going to work at all, I'm going to have to send it back." But it was a Friday afternoon, and we were busy. So I thought I'd deal with it on Monday. Well, I have to say - other than the kids whining about when I would set up the pool, it was the quietest weekend on record!! Come Monday morning I realized it WAS working - - the dog was MUCH quieter. We could let her out in the back yard without having to call her right back in from barking like crazy at the neighbor's horses etc. So it DOES work, and we are VERY happy with it!! Yeah!!! And the kids are thrilled that she is not getting shocked. They were not happy that she was going to get shocked. I did not even realize it when I bought it, that is was not a shock, but a sound and a buzz...

No Shock-No Bark Collar
We purchased this bark collar for our little Rat Terrior who would continually go wild barking at the passing neighbors everytime they passed. We have looked at shock collars but didnt like the idea of hurting the dog, especially since ours is very small. Most reviews on the no shock collars were not very positive or successful. However when we saw this paticular No Bark Collar, the few reviews listed were positive. Still not very confident but needing a solution, we purchased it. From the very first day it was placed on our dog, we saw immediate results. Our dog now goes through her daily routines in the yard without a bark! The collar is amazing. We have always had it set on the sound only option, never needing to set it to vibrate. However, she does know when its not on her and will bark as usual. We love the collar and HIGHLY recommend it!

Get this if you have a dog fence
The collar is light and is powered by several button batteries, the type you find in watches. It has a Low-High adjustment for the beep/vibrate on one side, and a switch between Beep/Off/Vibrate on the other. The collar is not a quick release clip so you'll have to open up the strap each time you want to put it on your pet.I have a Petsafe invisible dog fence and the collars. My dogs have learned beeping warning signs of being too close to the boundaries. This barking collar is perfect because it beeps/vibrates as opposed to shocks. The beeping tells my dogs to stop barking and that something is wrong. Just be careful if you have multiple dogs, one barking could set off the other, but could also deter the other from joining in on the barking.

It's a miracle!!!
I've had my dog for almost 3 years now and I will admit he's not very social, especially to other dogs. I would always dread taking him for walks because he would just make SUCH a ruckus. He would back and scream bloody murder if even the dog was on the other side of the street. Well imagine this 6 o'clock in the morning when the whole neighborhood is asleep. I'm sure you could imagine the embarrasement. Well I got this collar last week and I swear it's been a miracle. I'm kicking myself in the a## for not buying this collar earlier.The first time he barked, he was startled out of his mind. The second time, same reaction. The third time, he just barked once, then kept quiet once the spray went off. Now he doesn't even bark. You could tell he wants to, but just knows the consequences. Words can't explain how thrilled I am to have purchased this collar. Now I'm saving up to purchase the one with the remote. That way I can use it when I get home and he's screaching, waking up...

Excellent results with a dachshund
My doxie is a major league, Hank Aaron barker. This product is 100% effective for him. He is a little shy (although stubborn sometimes), which might make a difference. He weighs 19 lbs. I really am not sure I could bear to shock him, as I am a bit tender-hearted towards him, but I probably would if that was what it took to stop heavy barking.There are a lot of nice extras about using this collar.-- It doesn't seem to cause him any pain, it just startles him.-- He seems to be comfortable with it, as large as it is (we keep it loose), and can run, jump, and sleep with it on.-- It allows him to bark at a very subdued volume, which I think is nice. It's a pleasant deep soft sound, not at all bothersome, and it lets him satisfy his bark urge to a degree. It also lets him communicate when he needs something.-- If he does bark, it keeps the mosquitoes away!!-- The spray does not smell bad at all -- it's almost...

This is the best system
We are very happy with the citronella bark collars. We have three dogs, all are terriers and they can get into a bark-fest. These collars have worked wonders, and are truly humane-- they work without pain. I wouldn't use one of the shock collars. They are not "humane"- they shock and they hurt! If you don't believe me, put it on your own neck and give it a try. I have seen dogs with burns on their necks from those. (As an aside, yes, I tried this citronella collar too. I let it spray me full in the face. Not pleasant, but not painful.) If you love your dog, try this method. BTW, don't buy the expensive replacement batteries here. They are a standard size and can be obtained at any Walgreens, Target, etc for around $3.

Finally something that works!!
We have tried everything with our wonderful dog who never barks.. except when we leave... we started by giving him chew toys, busy bone, ultrasonic bark device, relaxing music for dogs (I kid you not), a dog collar with a citronelle spray, a fermone spray for his bed, and then we got a different electric collar pet safe which ambed up the shocks which worked somewhat but then our dog would howl when we leave.. it does not zap that kind of noise. After using this for a few years and watching our dog howl more and more when we leave... after another set of batteries ran out... we bought this one and oh my god it actually works. I think it' the vibration warning a zap is coming which makes it such a success... as it's a one two punch we needed to calm our dog down. For those of you who think this a bad for you dog... NO.. what is bad for your dog is straining his vocal cords all day and our neighbors nerves. Now he doesn't even attempt to bark or howl when leave what a huge relief...

Great product!
I've tried several no bark collars from different manufacturers. I really like this one best because it has a vibration feature that warns the dog before he gets barking. It is easy to adjust and is rechargeable. My dogs are barking herders and these work great.

Very effective
We ordered this collar for our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is a great dog, very gentle and obedient, but at age 2 has started develop a some pretty annoying barking habits. These range from the harmless but annoying, such as seeing a squirrel out the window, barking like crazy at it and then tearing down the stairs to his basement doggy door; to the embarassing such as going absolutely beserk at the mail carrier and anyone else who happens by our house walking a dog. When he goes into this "beserk" stage, he won't listen and can't be stopped from barking/growling until the "intruder" in his space is gone.We have tried a couple of different products, namely the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent (the one shaped like a birdhouse) for outdoors, and PetSafe PBC-1000 Ultrasonic Indoor Bark Control for indoors. The Outdoor unit worked reasonably well, but our dog figured out pretty quickly that if he got far enough back from it (it was placed near the property line...

To Whoof, or not to whoof, that is the question
This is a must have if you live within the city limits, have fussy or close neighbors in proximity to your yard, or have a strict home owners association that prohibits excessive dog barking. I am a lab breeder and own 3 of these units. I am very pleased with the performance and function of this product because it stops "nuisance barking" by administering a minimal buzz that gradually gets stronger the longer the dog barks the lowest setting delivers your common "prankster hand buzzer" volt. And if your too squeamish about buzzing your dog, there is a "lemon spray" version of this exact brand that also works well too. Instead of delivering a buzz, it puffs a lemon deterant near the snout. For more stubborn dogs, the buzzer seems to work better. In no way is this harmful to your dog, but rather more humane discipline than verbal or physical correction by you, the owner. I believe all dogs are pleasers and want you to be happy with them. It definitely works, but...
I gave this product 5 stars because it definitely works as advertised. Be forewarned, however, that your dog's reaction may vary greatly from others. We purchased two. On the one dog, it worked great - after a few weeks of training, she stops barking as soon as we take out the collar and stays silent. For this dog, the device is worth it's weight in gold! The other dog, however, had very bad experiences - when she is shocked, she cries (she has a weird bark/cry/growl), but the device thinks she is barking and continues to zap, and she becomes a wreck. Thus, we can't use it on her, but on the other dog it works great.A few other notes: it works by detecting vibrations in the dog's neck, not by sound (ie, another dog barking won't set it off), so the collar needs to be tight. If a dog has thick hair, it may not work as well. It will also take several weeks to train your dog properly with the device - the instructions indicate that you can't keep it on for more than 12 hours...

Incredibly effective!
My recently adopted, very excitable dog has had the collar on a total ofmaybe 3 hours over two days. Already, *without* the collar on, he hasabsolutely stopped barking at (a) the vacuum cleaner, (b) the neighbor'sperpetually yapping (instigator) dog right on the other side of thefence, and (c) squirrels (real or imagined) in the trees behind thehouse. The transformation is absolutely beyond belief. Get over any "Idon't want to hurt my baby" thing you may have going on - I did too -and buy this product if you have a barking problem. I'm floored by howeffective this thing is and wish I'd known about it years ago. I realizethat training isn't complete at this point but I've seen instantaneousand really dramatic improvement.
