Good but needs an up-date. Copyright is 1981. Points covered well and thoroughly and provide a good starting place for any projected construction. All things considered, I'm glad to have the book. Service and delivery fine. Needs for air conditioning not well covered.

Great Dog House - and I have a big/destructive dog!
I read the previous reviews AFTER ordering this dog house and was very worried about my purchase. But honestly I was shocked how WRONG a lot of the reviews were in my opinion.My dog is an 80lb shepherd who is OUT OF CONTROL, lol, he's a great dog but he is very large and is still a puppy so very hyper and he destorys...well... everything!!!!! and not only does he LOVE his dog house, but he has not been able to destroy it like others in their reviews mentioned. He's jumped on it and pushed it and its still stand there just fine.It's basically made of thick plastic so it "seems" flimsy when you take it out of the box but once its snapped together it is quite sturdy. The first time I put it together it did seem flimsy then I realize a couple of the snaps were not fully in place, once I corrected that I have NO complains on its durability.It is hallow, as far ss no insolation so I got a dog mat for inside and put a blanket inside but he'd rather sleep...

Economical purchase
I have an older dog, so didn't want to spend a ton of money for something, not knowing how long it would be used (sadly), despite the other reviews, I wanted to find out myself. It was very simple to put together, I did not find it flimsy, maybe if all the tabs aren't locked into place. Someone said theirs blew away in a wind storm, but it IS recommened to be fastened down, which I did, made a frame of wood and fastened it to it, seems to be very sturdy. I cut a scrap piece of carpet to fit and my dog is now in HEAVEN! Yes it isn't insulated, but think that can be easily remedied by anyone who is a little bit handy. I think what I like the best is not having to paint it, wash it down and be done with it! It is also a very cute house.

Good House
Good House for the price. Easy Construction except for the plastic door. The hinges that hold the plastic do not stay on tight and come off easily. The house blocks the dogs from bad weather which is why I like it. I recommend putting a block of wood under the house because it is close to the ground and water can possibly get in.

I bought this for the 3-4 cats that live on my porch, for the winter. I also got the body-heat mat for the inside, and the door (I'm reviewing those on their own product pages).I have uploaded a picture of the medium dogloo (Indigo Dog Home) with the door, and my cat Katrina, so maybe you can get a visual idea about size. She is maybe 5# IF that, a normal sized housecat breed.I bought two of these, and they came together in the biggest box I've ever seen, holy cats! I didn't even know carrier services could deliver boxes that big. Four normal adults could have fit crouching in it! This is a Medium dog house
I thought that because the profile says "good for large dogs" it would be for a 50lb dog, but it's not. I have a chow mix, which isn't very big, he's about 48lbs and only comes up to my knees, but he can't fit through the door into this dog house. I thought I bought a large, but this company only sells Medium houses online. The product itself is fine if you have a medium dog <40lbs.

Easy snap together, well-designed, weak floor
It took me about 20 minutes to put everything together. The screen panels (door) only require twisting of 4 thumb bolts and no screwdriver is even needed. The unit, after assembly, feels sturdy and strong. There are small air inlets at the top corners of the front and back panels to let fresh air in & out without letting water to leak in.The only thing I have to complain about is the floor should have been thicker and stronger, as it is very thin and weak. I guess it was designed to be put on a hard and flat surface, so I'm gonna have to get a piece of plywood underneath to provide support in order to jack it up from the ground.Overall, I'm happy with this dog house, as it was easy to assemble and structurally strong. The screen door is a plus, as all other types of dog house don't have it. The price is reasonable and affordable.

Great for my cats
I just ordered my third Suncast dog house. I'm using them on my deck for my outside kitties to keep them out of the rain and cold. It's not super sturdy but since my heaviest cat weighs only about 10 lbs it's enough. The floor is a little thin but I put bricks under all 4 corners and the middle on each side, works really well. I plan on filling it with old blankets this winter so they can snuggle in. All in all, for $50 it's great!

The Cadillac of Cat Beds!
My Mom has been feeding a stray cat ("Ms. Kitty") in her neighborhood for the past 6 months. Our cats love it!
We found this cat house on Amazon and weren't sure whether or not our cats would like it. After receiving it (shipping was very fast!), we can say that our cats don't like it, they LOVE IT! Really Nice Cat House
Don't let the 4-star review deter you. It should be a 4.5 out of 5 star review. I am basing this review partly on the cat's ability and desire to use the shelter as well as the shelter design. First, the design looks to be top notch. The top fits securely and there is Styrofoam insulation all around the shell including a top baffle. The top lid rotates to open or close a set of holes which act as vents. The shelter comes with a really plush bed that looks and feels soft and comfortable. It's made out of lightweight plastic and is easy to carry and move around. It is non obtrusive and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb so that's a plus as well.My only issue is that the cat I'm trying to shelter is semi-feral and doesn't really like to be confined -- at least not yet anyway. I want to buy all 3 items!
I made my collie a real nice doghouse at another house we lived in a few years ago. Now, I would like to keep him warm out in the cold, when we have to go out for a while. He's not house broke when we leave him alone, so we have no choice. I love the insulation for this log cabin dog house. Good idea! Only I would buy '2' Outback Dog House Clear Doors and put one inside and one outside. That stops the tangling somewhat better, I would think and offers double the protection against wind and critters. I will order this, after reading the other reviews. Thanks for the clear input.

It worked.
I previously bought a dog house at Tractor Supply that was not the same brand as the insulation. Therefore, the door opening was on the wrong side. That did not stop me, however, I just turned it upside down and now my dog has a cozy option.

Keep warm in winter
This item was easy to install and fits well. The dog had no problem with getting back in his house with it installed. I have yet to get a chance to see how well it will work in really cold weather, but it has to be better than nothing.
