These have always been the best covers
It provides security without restricting tank access.You can reach the creatures from the entire length of the tank, so it makes feeding and cleaning a lot easier.I have these int eh 10gal and 20gal. sizes and I love them.

Great Lid
A lot of people do not like this style of lid. You can only open half of it at a time. Of course, if you wanted to, you could just remove the lid like you would a non-folding lid. I think it's great. I use it on a snake. I'm always worried that my snake will get out of the other side of the cage while I'm trying to grab her, so it's nice to have some extra security. It also secures well to the tank using regular metal clips. You can leave one half secured all the time so you don't have to fuss with it.I had to order this lid on Amazon because a lot of pet suppliers did not have this type. I was warned that the hinges break down over time, but I haven't seen any sign of weakness. Even if the hinges broke, the lid would be stable enough with locking clips (which if you have a screen lid, you'll need any way for your rodents and reptiles)This lid shipped quickly and was received in a comically large box. Great little aquarium
This is a great starter aquarium. Order a book or two about having fish when you order the aquarium too and wait a week before getting fish.In years past you'd have all sorts of work with the filters and such. With the bio-wheel that comes with this tank your only work is to occasionally replace the "physical filter" and do a partial water change. That's it! The tank also comes with a beautiful light that'll really make your fish shine.You will need some gravel too and some plants and maybe a stone or two for the fish to hide behind. The gravel and such are best picked up at your local pet store. Start out with plastic plants rather than live plants; you'll have plenty to do anyway.In my experience things are easier if you have a heater too. The fish likes the water temperature to be constant. I've been using a 150w heater with good success in this tank.Let the tank run with the heater for a day or two to get the temperature...

Amazing
I have owned a system 3 for almost 6 years now! If there was 1 word to describe this it would be: Effortless.This is a fine piece of machinery that looks and runs great, for years to come.Maintenence:-Change the filter every 1-3 months (depending on the clenliness of your fish and the nuber you have)-25% water change every time you change the filter or every other time (again, depending on your fish-I also reccomend a gravel cleaner-About once every 8 months to a year, I have to clean out the impeller housing to clean out the junk that builds up because of reduced performance.(manual shows step by step instructions on how to do this, and if you loose your manual, go to marineland.com to download one for free)Cons-none really, but it is quite small. Recently I have been looking at the system 6 or 12.*I'm not sure about how it would do with salt water, as I have not tried, but...

Excellent Small Aquarium
I think this is an Excellent Small to Midrange Aquarium set. I've been using this aquarium for 3 years now and am very pleased with it.It is an acrylic tank - not glass, so that's the first factor to consider. The difference is that it will be lighter than a glass tank but acrylic can get all scratched up when you're trying to do stuff like scrape algae off - just be careful to not scrub so hard or use abrasive cleaners that can scratch or smoke up the acrylic.I think that 12 gallons is a perfect size for a small area. You can have one larger fish in there, or several small ones. The 12 gallon size gives you a good amount of space so you have more options on what kind and how many fish you want to keep in there.The hinged lid houses the filtration and lighting system while keeping the aquarium covered so that things don't inadvertently fall in, or critters getting out. I think a good lid is very important for a fish tank, sometimes things drop...

Great Starter Tank
I bought this as a gift for my 8 year old son for Christmas. We're fish beginners and never owned any pets before. The tank was easy to set up and get started, just need to purchase gravel and plants. One key suggestions is to also purchase Lee carbon filter that attaches to the air 'thingy' (excuse my excessively technical language). It helps keep the water clear and the PH balanced so you don't have to do frequent water changes. The filters come in a two pack and are only three bucks a pop and will save you hours of anxiety if you're new to the fish game.

Misleading picture...
I purchased two tanks with the expectation that the picture shows a divider in the middle of the tank. This is false in that the tanks I got had no dividers, hence useless as advertised dual Betta tanks, but good for a very small community tank.In dealing with the vendor, [...], it was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I do not recommend them at all.

BEST tank aquarium
My Betta fish looks extremely happy into this 3g tank; I just regret I didn't buy the 5g version.The Whisper Micro Filter works SO good, it has a Flow Control system which allows me to select a very low flow, perfect for bettas!Unfortunately, the tank comes with a "medium" size filter, which is way TOOOOO big for the small tank. I know there is a "small" version of the Whisper Micro Filter, so I don't understand why Tetra didn't bundle it with this tank instead of the Medium size. :-SThe tank itself looks crystal clear, acrylic made, very resistant, and easy to clean. I recommend you to buy a special acrylic cleaner sponge since regular sponges will scratch it.I was speechless when I first turned the LED Lighting Lamp ON, it is magnificent! Perfect room lightning at night. LEDs technology is awesome, it doesn't only lights better, but it saves a lot of energy compared to regular bulbs.I love all Tetra products! They are...

Great tank but filter is ???
Don't get me wrong by the three stars. This tank is great but the filter set up is not a good one. The design of the items for the tank make everything fit perfectly. There is even a slot for a heater cord. The problem is the filter mount when used has the top of the filter to high in the tank so that the top of the filter is the same level with the top of the open tank thus can SLOWLY leak water along the mount to the outside of the tank. Bottom line is use the suction cups only and you will be happy. Had I really known about how this filter worked I would have gone with something like a fluval U1 or U2.

Quiet with a small footprint
This 3 gallon tank has been great. The filter is very quiet, but is very powerful. The tank has not required much cleaning because the filter is rated for tanks much bigger than 3 gallons. The downside is that the filter itself is big, so it takes up more room in the tank. The shape of the tank allows for a great presentation, but it does not take up much room. The only complaint I have with the tank is the the top that is provided does not fit on very easily. Overall a great small tank!!!

Works great
I used this to turn my bio ball sump into a refugium. It worked great. Is holding water well and is strong to the acrylic plastic I used it with. Also I have plenty left over and it came with a cap so I can save it for later, don't really see that much with a caulk style tub.

Better than buying from pet store.
I used this to Reseal a 55 Gallon long tank. I know that buying from the pet store will notallow me to reseal it completely due to the amount of silicone most commercial pet stores offer. Buying this is the same price,if not cheaper, of the overprice smaller tubes pet stores offer. Even after completely sealing my 55 gallon long tank, I still have about only less than 1/4 left. Plus it is easier with a caulking gun as you will need to work fast before it starts curing.This stuff is very clear after curing like brand new silicone from today's fish tanks. But differs due to how well you prep your tanks.
