Simply the best diamond sharpening stones on the Market!
The EZE-Lap diamond stones are the best I have ever had - incredibly fast cutting, durable and long-lasting. My original set of stones (a 250/400 grit and a 600/1200 grit) has lasted several years and still have plenty of diamonds left! Although the manufacturer says they are designed to sharpen dry, I find for knives they work better with some water and a couple drops of dish detergent. The fine grits are perfect for touching up a slightly dull tool or knife but for really dull tools or knives you must start with the coarsest grit and go step by step to the finest grit: 1200. Diamonds cut so fast that you must be careful not to over cut with the coarse grits. You will LOVE these stones!

A bit rough to start with
When I first took this out of the box I thought it might be too coarse, but after reading the instructions on the manufacturers website, I realized it just needed to be broke in. I sharpened a splitting maul and a couple of shovels to get the finish wore down to the correct grit. Now it sharpens perfectly. I sharpen a LOT of knives so the durability of this diamond surface was important. After two dozen blades, I've come to the conclusion that this stone is worth every penny!
