Great item
I have had these steps now for almost a year. I bought them thru Amazon and actually paid a little more for them then than they are now so that makes them an even better deal now.They are sturdy, well built, easy to clean and a snap to fold and store.Some people said that they found them to be wobbly or that their pet slipped off the side - That might be true if you can only use them in the direction they are shown in the picture however I turned them sideways so that one side of the bed was on the long side of the steps and my 8 lb dog and 13 lb older cat have no problem using them. Unless they have changed them since I bought mine, I was very impressed with how stable they are.

Very sturdy considering it's foldable & very light
I bought this for my two Poodle/Shiu Tzu 20-25 lb. pets to climb onto the very tall family member's bed. Naturally, I had to put their paws on it step by step a few times to get them used to it.One was only slightly afraid of it at first & still goes slowly up it, but now he only needs a single simple verbal prodding (he tends to be lazy & want to be picked up.) He uses it to go down as well as he has shorter legs & the jump down must bother him enough to use it. The one who was terrified at first, she now races up it like it's nothing, but has longer, springy legs & does not need it to jump off.It feels like it's barely a pound in weight & does move easily when pushed by a human, the leverage is great & center of gravity is nice & low to keep it stable.It comes w/eight carpet-like sticky treads you see, four for now & four for future replacement. The "button" to lock it in place & push to close/fold is more a cheap latch that's part of the structure that sticks out...

Very Acceptable Pet Steps
We bought two of the 4-steps about a year ago and are buying two more for our three shih tzus. The steps are lightweight, sturdy (we break them down and take them on road trips for use in the hotels/motels). They are easily assembled and disassembled. The girls have had no problems using the steps and one of them likes to hide under the set in the family room for her afternoon naps. We're buying more for grandma's house, etc. Our dogs use these steps many, many times a day and we're pleased how well the product holds up to what has to be called 'excessive' use by our two one-year-olds playing tag hours on end, using these steps. A good product at a good price. We're buying more.

Finally--Practical steps
This is what I like about the steps:1. They don't stick out too far into the middle of the room.2. They are acceptable as furniture (yes, plastic but not cheap-junk-looking) with a neutral color (well... ideally, I'd like color choices).3. Even I could put them together, although I had to examine the picture very closely.This is what my toy poodle likes about them:1. Even when she hits them at a run (which she does) they don't skitter across the floor. As a matter of fact, the steps have not moved at all since I placed them.2. The steps have backs, so you don't see scary empty space when you are learning to use them.3. The steps have some depth and are surprisingly broad so you don't have to tiptoe up and down. They are slightly tilted backward for a feeling of security.4. The carpet treads give your paws good purchase and that mean no scary slipping on the steps.I did have to take time to teach my very timid dog how to...

Great option for older pets
Customer Video Review Length:: 0:27 MinsWe had a ramp a few years ago, for another dog. Neither dog (the older one or the younger one) liked it & would never use it. The two dogs we have now don't mind using them. The older one hasn't gotten to the point where she uses it on her own. But I've been training them both to use them & when they are told to "use the stairs", the will do that. ;-)Easy to put together. Easy to move. We have teak furniture, so it kind of matches.I'm pleased with this purchase.

"Gentle Incline" means sloped stairs bad for dogs
Anyone who has a dog knows, they should not jump down off of anything they cannot jump up on. Jumping down is far more dangerous, and most injuries occur to dog's legs, joints, and spine from jumping down. These stairs are fine for climbing up. The "gentle incline" does encourage dogs to climb up, but it DISCOURAGES a dog from using the stairs to climb back down...which is far more important. My dog has used stairs since she was a puppy. She is rough though, so when she plays she runs and hits the stairs with such force, she breaks the cheap ones, even though she only weighs 20 pounds. She will use these stairs to climb, but, after going down them a couple of times, she now jumps down next to them, or jumps over them, rather than using them to climb back down. She never did that with "regular" square stairs...I guess think about it...the designer of these stairs sure didn't....if you had to go down a flight of stairs where each step was sloped downward, would it be easy for...

FANTASTIC NOW I CAN GET SOME SLEEP
I dont write many reviews but when it comes to dog products I like to hear feedback so here it goes.I have a 6lb Yorkshire Terrier she loves to sleep with me at night but has a hard time getting into the bed without my help. So waking me up in the middle of the night for me to bend over and get her up was a pain because she would do it to me several times in the middle of the night.She now uses the stairs on her own and no more waking me up in the middle of the night. I had to get her used to them at first but didnt take long. I just took some treats broke them up and put them on each stair and she got the hang of it.These stairs are FANTASTIC they are made out of wood have felt on the stairs so she wont slip. Just take them out of the box and that is it. This is a great price for this product you wont find it cheaper anywhere else. I know I did alot of looking saw the same stairs for over 100.00. Good for price - not highest quality
We have an aging cat and a tall bed. This product works well and the first time she saw it, she was able to walk right up onto the bed without having to jump. The covered stair treads are really nice for their nails to get traction which increases their confidence in using. You would not want this for a large dog, as it is just to narrow. For the price, my expectations were not all that high but the quality of construction and the finish were not to the level I would like. I had to tighten several screws and we plan to put another coat of varnish on it. The wood underneath is plywood and it looks like it is being handmade by someone. On the plus side, it comes completely assembled. Buy it at this price for small animals, but do not be surprised if it is not perfect.

Perfect for a small dog with a short back.
I, however, have miniature dachshunds, and the stair depth is a little too short for them.Having said that, the stairs are nice looking and sturdy, and if I can get my dogs to get over their fear of the steps being too steep and too close together (just for their particular breed), then everything will be perfect.If you have a small dog that isn't a dachshund, these will work great for you!

Fido Heaven!!
I looked all over at the stores for a set of steps for my small dog who is getting older. I just couldn't find anything I really liked so I thought I'd try on Amazon. I ordered these steps because they came with and extra cover and I thought that was pretty cool. Well I gotta tell you my dog loves these steps! He can get up them easily and I love the fact that they are not so big like some of them that take up half the room. They are good quality and I have had no problems after 4 months. Don't waste your money on those flimsy fold ups. I tried them and they are just waiting to collapse on your dog or grab your finger when you aren't expecting it. LOL. In other words I love these stairs and so does my dog. I give them an A+.

good only for small dogs
Even though it seems to be a nice item. But never the less, this doggy step is really only good for small dogs. Our cocker spaniel size terrier mix ( about 25 pounds) is way too heavy for it. The cushion sinks under it's weight and also the plastic cover between the cushion and fabric cover makes such a noise that it actually scares the dog off.Had returned the item with a guaranty for a refund. The item was returned by now. Haven't heard once back from the seller regarding my return or my refund. Seller hasn't bothered to contacted me once.

Steps for bed
I love them and so do my cats. My bed is on a low platform, so they are perfect for my bed and would be ok for a slightly higher bed as well. My cats are getting older and they started using the steps relatively quickly after I received them. I'm thinking about ordering another or maybe two more - they're GREAT!!!

So far, so good!
I bought these steps for two Springer Spaniels who are getting a little old. They seem to hold up fine under the weight of dogs their size. I like the fact that there's no assembly, that the cover comes off for washing, that they're lightweight, and that they have a little handle on the back. On top of all that, the price is right. Most of the other pet steps I found on the internet were more expensive and got poor reviews.

five star I am sure for small pets but I have a lab
So I have a great chocolate lab who has arthritis, and so I have been meaning to get her stairs to make it easier for her to get on and off the bed. This product is rated for 200 lbs so I bought it. What I like about is it is light, plush, has a removable cover, and is compact. What I don't like about it, is for a dog about her size or bigger (about 75 pounds), it needs to be wider and the stair tread depth needs to be deeper. My dog was able to use this after an hour of training (but my dog is ridiculously smart :)). However, because of what I said it is not easy for her. Also I have a relatively high bed, so the steps only go up to the bottom of the mattress which I thought before ordering would be alright, since the last step could technically be the mattress, but this is part of what she is struggling with. Eventually I will buy a bigger one if she continues to have problems, but for now she can use it if she goes slow and is careful, and it is taking a huge amount of...
