Perfect for a Chihuahua

Fits My Chihuahua Mix
I am taking my dog to Europe and was told I needed to bring a muzzle for him. He is a 7 pound chihuahua mix. I went to various pet stores and couldn't find a muzzle small enough for him. I finally went to a local pet groomer and asked if they had a muzzle that would fit him. They brought out this one in a size 0 and although he didn't like it, it did fit. I found it on Amazon and ordered it. It was nice not to have to guess at a size and have to keep returning them. This muzzle seems relatively comfortable although I know he won't tolerate it for very long and as they note, it should not be used on a dog that will be left alone. This meets our needs. Finally, something that really works.
There are days that our home is very crowded, lots of people in and out, and those days make for a loud household, as my two dogs bark nonstop. My female dog nips at men too, which is a problem. My male dog has chewed through EVERY leash and many collars on his sister. It's been difficult, to say the least. These muzzles have been a HUGE saving grace. My male, who has managed to wiggle his way out of everything else, is NOT able to get this muzzle off. (I should add, I did put a few stitches in his, to keep the plastic piece in place, just in case.) While the dogs can growl with these on, they can't bark, they can't chew, and much to my surprise, they calm down immediately when they are put on. I absolutely recommend this item for dog owners who haven't had any luck with other ideas. I suggest, as one reviewer stated his/her dog got it off, just make sure it is tight enough, if my dog can't get it off, then I can't imagine ANY dog can! Great product. A+

Muzzle me this?
Fits like a glove on my 2-year old beagle. Now I can stop the nipping when I trim his toenails. I bought this because it is identical to the muzzle my vet uses and wanted to sell me for more than twice the price. Great product and great value.

Ease the savage beast
I bought this with the idea specially to be able to clip by Beagle's nails. I had bought a professional clipper on Amazon and was eager to use it (not those awlful guillotine types that crush the nail and cause pain) more of a rouneded head scissors/pliers type clippers. However my dog resisted me in every way and would almost bite at my hand to get away from the clippers. After placing this muzzle on--so easy to apply thanks to the Velcro fastener--she calmed down and allowed me to trim her nails. When they don't have their mouths to use as resistence it is so much easier. Not one bleeding nail either. Saved a lot from grooming charges, too. The most important thing is to get the right size. The first one I got was this one pictured, a medium, but in fact it was too big for my dog. The seller gladly exchanged it for a small muzzle that didn't slip off the head and snout when used. It's difficult to buy the right size from either a photo or suggested breeds. A medium was recommended... Top to learn more

Great product for the price
For the price, I am very satisfied with this product. This product fits my boxer very well, which is hard to find for their short snouts. His snout was exactly 10 1/2" as is recommended for this product. He has not been able to get it off, although he has not tried very hard to get it off yet. If you get this for your dog, I would recommend that you view and follow the training tips on the video on youtube called "conditioning your dog to wear a muzzle." This method works well for teaching dogs to wear any type of muzzle.I bought this muzzle because my dog has a nervous aggression around people and other dogs. I have not tested it out with other dogs yet, but it has worked well at preventing him from nipping at people. To my suprise, it has actually calmed him down around new people. We have been doing training with him to expose him to more people, but he has still been very nervous and has occassionally nipped at our helpers. After using the muzzle to train him... Bought the size 5 for my 70 lbs shepherd/lab mix with nose circumference of 10 inches. Fit perfectly. Keeps him from getting fresh with unknown visitors and makes it very easy to clip his nails. As if he knows his "weapon" has been deactivated. Top to learn more
Size matters....
I'm not sure what to rate this... I never got to use it... I was seeking a good priced (cheaper than the stores) non-mesh muzzle and this one was great and even w/ shipping it was still a dollar or so less than the local pet stores. The pet stores by my house offer the mesh muzzle in S,M,L sizes... My dogs fit the medium muzzles (one 50 and one 80 pounder) but I felt the mesh might snag on their nails if they started pawing to get it off. I could not find how to figure out what size to get for my dog as these muzzles are in numbers. I searched the internet and felt the size 2 would be good for my 50 pounder. When I received the muzzle, it was waaay too small. I called the vendor and she was very nice but I could not return the muzzle as I would have had to pay for shipping it back to her and then shipping the new one to me. With all the shipping costs, it wasn't worth the return/exchange... I ended up keeping the muzzle and will donate it to someone or some place who could really... Top to learn more

It proposes “potentially dangerous dog” which would give the animal control officer much more leeway in deeming a dog potentially dangerous and therefore able to inflict penalties and strategies such as muzzling on those dogs. Furthermore, crafting an ordinance based on how a dog looks does not address the fact that 100 percent of the dog bites occurring between 2009 and 2012 were from dogs that were off-leash. org, states that “the ordinance should be centered on how a dog behaves and not how a dog looks… accurate visual recognition of a pit bull is all but impossible and I could foresee legal challenges to determine a dog’s heritage. Sixty percent of all disfiguring and fatal dog attacks nationally are committed by this breed when they make up five percent or less of the dog population. There are many more proposals which if you read the proposed amendment gives much greater control to the city for handling dangerous dogs of ANY breed. On April 20, Mayor Christensen returned the controversial ordinance to the City Council unsigned but with “amendments” that reject breed-specific legislation and address the behavior of both the dog and the owner. The supposed amendment he sent back provides nothing more than our current ordinance on dogs in Chapter 9 section 16 through 25 and is an attempt to make people believe somehow he is proposing something that will make them safer.
Although having a dog muzzle on may prove useful, overusing them can have aversive consequences on your dog's health and wellbeing. A dog muzzle is a type of device that holds a dog's mouth from opening. A dog that still tries to bark or bite at you when asked to perform a task is an indication sign that your dog is not ready yet. Especially if your dog has an aggressive personality, putting on a muzzle might prevent any injuries from happening. Having a spare muzzle in your vehicle may also come in handy if you chance upon meeting an injured stray dog that you may want to help.
Stay away from leather device with few holes in it. The airflow is minimal and it is not the best silence device for your little pooch. The head halter is not equipped to restraint the pooches unsuspecting bites, or sometimes does not fit to restrict the pooch from biting at all. Unless your pooch has serious aggression problem, the only other reason where dog muzzles come in is due to city law and regulation. Dog muzzles may come in handy when you are out taking the pooch out to the groomer's or just for a short walk. There are cheap devices to comply with the on-set rules but here are some devices which are not recommended for the pooches.

Susan Lawrence and Michelle Parsons have started a petition to urge the City Council to reject the restrictions the city ordinance committee intends to impose on certain dogs. “I want to move to your ward,” a young girl said to Ward 5 Councillor Barbara Murphy, who voted against the muzzle ordinance. Mayor [Gary] Christenson needs to get his own idea,” said dog-owner Susan Lawrence.
