Basic Necessity for a City Dog
If you have a medium sized doggie and are looking for a crate because you live in an apartment, this particular model is a good choice. Crate training is amazingly simple (just don't use it for punishment--make it a happy experience when your puppy go into his crate). We have been using this for two months, and he takes to it easily.1. Easy to put together and fold away. Solid black e-coat steel wire, conjoined with small metal plates with welded corners facing out. It comes with a slightly smaller divider that you can hook to the insides of the crate. As our puppy got bigger, we moved the divider and eventually removed it.2. The two doors (one on the long end is off-centered) are not removable and opens only one way so it's not omni-directional when you place it in tight spaces. Great crate
I bought this crate for my 30-lb beagle/terrier mix dog and it's great. It folds up in a cinch (it's literally 3 steps and takes about 10 seconds max) and has carry handles on the side, so it's really easy to transport. I like having the 2 doors so I have options of how I can place the crate in a room. There are latches on the top and bottom of each door so it's very secure. Great crate!

Nice, sturdy crate, easy to set up, inexpensive
I purchased this crate from Petsmart for my newly adopted dog. They size these crates based on dog weight, but I would measure your dog to make sure they fit.My dog is less than 45 lbs, but his head touches the top of this crate when he sits up. He has room to lay down, but he can't really stretch out. I am ordering the next size up from Amazon for him however, and will use this one as a travel crate.It set up in less than a minute, and everything works very well on it. The crate seems very sturdy and I've had no problems at all.

This is an awesome carrier at an awesome price! Super easy to put together, and super sturdy. I haven't experienced the flimsiness with the door and having to bend the plastic that one of the other reviewers mentioned. Everything fits together very smoothly, and it's very roomy inside. The colors are very nice and it looks way more expensive than it was. My puppy is learning to like it, too.One thing I will say is pay attention to the sizing. It says large, but they recommend use for dogs (or cats) under 25 lbs, so I wouldn't call it large and I wouldn't get it if you have a large breed puppy. Fine Kennel
This is a fine lightweight kennel. Our small 14lb dog fits in it perfectly.The door is a bit flimsy, by that I mean the pins that insert into the top and bottom of the box dont always line up with their holes, and you bend the plastic cage slightly to make it fit. No real problem with that, but it is a bit flimsy.

Awesome create, great price!
It sure is a good thing I checked amazon.com for dog creates before spending almost twice as much at a major pet store! This crate is perfect in every way. It's very well made and the price can't be beat. The bottom plastic tray can be easily removed for cleaning and the crate collapses very easily. It's pretty easy to open and close with the double sliding locking mechanism, and it comes with a partition so it can grow with your puppy. I can't imagine housetraining our now-five-month-old puppy without it! We love this create, and so does our puppy.Addition 1/2011: This crate is still standing strong and has proven itself to hold up against a strong dog, us bumping up against it, moving it, collapsing it, and cleaning it. It's perfect!

Huge Crate!
I recently purchased the 42x28x30 crate for my 4 month old German Shepherd. He was quickly growing out of his smaller crate as he is already over forty pounds. I was unsure before ordering whether this would be a sufficiently sized crate for my dog when he is mature. I will tell you we joking call this his condo because it is huge. I am 5'3" and 110 lbs. and me and my dog could fit in this crate (we actually did lol!). Plus the free divider makes it great as a training crate. If you are considering a crate for a large breed dog like a German Shepherd, this is a great crate for your dog. It is also very sturdy and easy to set up. I am so happy that I saved money and got a great crate!

An excellent value and a sturdy little crate
I watch my neighbor's toy dog everyday when I am not traveling. I like to tell people that we have a "joint custody" arrangement. She has a large crate at her home for the dog to spread out in, but since she chews on things (the dog, not my neighbor) I needed a little one for the times when I leave the dog alone in my house. Also, she needed a travel-sized crate for car trips.When I found this dog crate on Amazon I was curious as to how well made it could be for such a low price (I got the smallest one, 18x14x12). When it arrived the next day I was really pleased with how easy it was to set up. No tools, no wing nuts, just lift the sides up and snap it together. It is perfect for my needs. Bella, a little Yorkie, is fully grown and can stand up in it just fine. I now have a fleece liner for it and sometimes she walks in there on her own and hangs out in her little house. Our cat carrier of choice
In an emergency, you could bundle kitty into a pillow case to take him to the vet's. I've never tried this, but my friend who volunteers for the Humane Society says it does work. However, you are much better off with a pet carrier, and this one is a good size for all but the largest of cats (I go up one size for my 30 lb. Maine Coon).Another good feature of this particular carrier, is that you can take it apart at the vet's if your cat refuses to come out. You might be surprised at how difficult it is to budge a cat who has all four feet braced against the inside of the carrier.I recommend getting one Kennel Cab per pet just in case you have an emergency, such as a pending hurricane or fire, and have to move all of your animals at once. This model is easy to stack, and easy to clean.

This size is perfect for cats and small dogs that weigh up to roughly 16 pounds, and other pets you may have. This four sides of the carrier have plenty of ventilation; and it's easy to carry and easy to assemble/take apart.In case your pet is skittish about getting out of the carrier when they sense they're at the vet, another reviewer writes that it comes in very handy to have the carrier able to be opened from sides so that the top comes off. Nice size crate for Yorkie, easy to assemble.
Very nice crate, easy to assemble. Just the right size for my Yorkie that is 10" tall and 9" long (weight 6 lbs.). He has room to stretch out and turn around in comfort. Light weight, very roomy. I highly suggest a fleece pet bed liner, makes it warm and comfy.

Mid-West crates are the best
This is the 3rd or 4th Midwest crate I've ordered and and they are all wonderful. I have several sizes and really love the crates with the side and end doors. You have more options in placement of the crate. The divider panel really comes in handy when I'm potty training, too. With four dogs of all shapes and sizes--Great Pyreenes down to a Maltese--I highly recommend any crates by Midwest. They are perfect for training. My dogs love them and use them every night. They also like them when it's thundering and lightning. After their last night potty outside, they crowd around their crates and can't wait for me to open them up so they can bed down for the night. (Doesn't help that they each have 2-3 treats waiiting for them inside.)

Good Choice
We just got a 7 week old mini doxie puppy and bought this crate both as a housebreaking tool and a "bedroom". The fact that it has a divider screen makes it perfect for both. You can make the crate smaller for a young puppy to discourage eliminating in the cage and yet you don't need to buy a new crate when he is full grown. You just take the divider out. It is a very sturdy pen for the money, yet portable because it folds flat. I know I sound like an ad but I am just saying that all the things the company says about it are true.

As Advertized
Got this to travel with Great Dane puppy. Set up and broke down very easily, especially considering my all thumbs approach to such items. Could easily be carried by one adult to the car. Did not attempt to use it along the way - remained folded during trip. But set up very nicely at the destination. I used the second largest and, at 4.5 months, the dog still sees it as home and stays all night with minimum complaint. My only surprise was that, in its folded state and as compact as it is, it still takes considerable space in our crossover vehicle to accommodate. We ended up standing it up and bungying to the side of the cargo compartment.

Good kennel, could use more sturdy door
The kennel is nice, I just wish it had a sturdier door. It seems a little light weight, but not necessarily flimsy... I have a English Mastiff pup Max and he is crate trained, it works fine for in the house use. I can't imagine it would hold him in on the plane though, I'll keep ya posted.

Mainly, the court looks at the definition of kennel—any establishment where three or more dogs are kept—and finds that Tomlin’s house contains nine dogs, and, thus, qualifies as a kennel even though not licensed. Although Tomlin argues that particular subsection applies only to current kennel license holders seeking to renew, the court finds that by the language of the statute, the section applies both to license renewal as well as those seeking initial... Tomlin appealed that decision, arguing that the ordinance, VOO § 106-3B, which regulates kennels, is unconstitutionally vague. Tomlin’s issue is whether § 106-3B is unconstitutional for failure to establish clear standards for a kennel license. The court thus holds § 106-3B constitutional in that it “provides sufficient standards” for the village to follow in permitting and denying kennel applications. A few months later, Tomlin applied to the village for a kennel license. Further, Tomlin asserts that § 106-3C, which regulates the maximum number of dogs in a residence, is unconstitutional because it incorporates § 106-3B by reference. Finally, the court deals with Tomlin’s argument that § 106-3C is unconstitutional by its incorporation into § 106-3B.

I head outside and find the woman standing deep inside of my property, right at the gate to my dog’s kennel. I was home a few weekends ago, immersed in my usual weekend chores, when my dog, who was outside in his kennel, began to bark. The kennel is a descent size, fenced in concrete area. The kennel also is partially roofed so he can stay nice and dry during rainy days.

They do say that necessity is the mother of invention and as is often the case, a British company has created the first sound-proofed dog kennel. The company from Hadleigh in Essex made the UZOO ‘Quiet Kennel’ which claims to reduce the noise within the confines of the structure by up to 85%. The options are varied and include keeping the dog in a room with soft lighting and a radio on playing calming music like easy listening or soft classical. Pets will try to run away from the noise and often end up disorientated resulting is a missing loved pet. This is the ideal gift for animal lovers as fireworks are the cause of great distress to some dogs due to the loud bangs and whistles.

This would mean that if any resident has more than two dogs, that they may use recreationally for hunting, security, raising, tracking, or mushing, they would be considered a dog kennel. Now elected council members are considering amending the definition of the current by-law 860-2010, pertaining to dog kennels. Since the by-aw states that "Noise shall mean persistent barking, calling, whining, or making other noises by animals," it is my understanding that this noise bylaw pertains to any animal making persistent noise on their property during the night. With this amendment to the dog kennel bylaw, we believe our way of life will be threatened. We are very disappointed that Council has supported these complaints, without public knowledge or coming to talk to us. The Noise bylaw was passed without many Neebing residents knowing anything about it, and many residents believe the same will... After presenting almost 200 signatures of residents opposed to the new animal noise bylaw 914-2011, council members still voted in favour of the new bylaw. They will have to apply for a kennel license and get permission from their neighbours. People live in Neebing because they want rural living, without the constraints of urban life. Yet they continue to try to restrict residents' lifestyles, especially if you are a dog owner.
