We have a young, 15 lb. Doxie/Jackie mix who has a LOT of energy. We bought this pen primarily so we could use it as a barrier between rooms, and it works great for that. We use one of the end sections as a "door" for us (and him) that we set against the wall when we want to close off the room; we stretch three of the adjoining sections in short "V"s for the length of the room opening; and then we "fold" the remaining partitions together and set them against the opposite wall. It is completely free standing this way, which means it doesn't rub against the walls (unless our dog jumps against it, which he has been known to do--but it doesn't fall over when does this because of how it's propped against the wall, and that's important). We've also used it as a pen, and it worked great for that too. We wondered if our little guy would be able to knock it over when it was in its pen shape, but if he tried, it didn't come down. We left him in it while we ran errands for a couple of hours, and...

Perfect for my French bulldog..
We love this pen. It is large enough for the puppy and for an adult or child to sit in and play with the dog. When opened up it spans a very large entry to the great room in our home giving us the ability to confine her to an area of the house. It is strong and sturdy and although she is a puppy I can imagine her using it even as a 30lb adult dog. For larger dogs, I definitly would consider buying the taller 30" or more. This pen is extremely well priced and after shopping around at local pet stores this one was positively the best deal ever.

Beautiful golden finish, Tall, Sturdy, and Rugged
The metal bars are not the flimsy type like you see in pet cages, but thick no-nonsense bars with impeccable quality in their golden zinc finish. The xpen has 8 panels that fold in any direction so you can shape the 16 foot long product into a room divider, or snap the ends together with the included golden spring clips to form a rectangle or octagon. I have mine placed in the corner of the room, and so it is more of a bulging triangle at the moment.The product included ground hooks, for persons placing the xpen outside in the yard, as well as thick polymer clips to latch panels that are running straight, so that the pen cannot be tipped over. These come off for easy storage. I originally hung a sheet over the top of the xpen to create an artificial ceiling to employ behavioral shaping to condition my dog into not believing that he might escape by jumping upward, and this has been fully successful, although you can purchase ceilings of bars or a shade tarp...

We just adopted 2 new puppies. This is essential if you want to get any thing done during the day.
The pen arrive promptly, and was easy to assemble. We have it in the octagon pattern which allows the most romp area for our 2 mischievious little pups. There is also room for a medium a bed, large pee pad and water dish. The set up is stable, our puppies are between 10 and 15 lbs, and have yet to knock it over... and they have tried. My only complant is that a few of the edges were quite sharp and had to be filed down.

great cage.
This is a great cage. However, if you are purchasing for a dachshund there are some negatives. We have a 10 yr old with back issues and he cannot get in or out alone. I am fearful that our 3 yr old and our 1 1/2 year old are going to hurt their backs jumping over the threshold. Just might want to think about it if this is your breed of dog. Also, wish I would have gotten the 30" instead of the 36" ht. It would have been plenty tall. Otherwise, it is a great cage.

Great pen
We've used this pen since our dog was a puppy, and it's been great to give us the peace of mind to know he's in a safe place when we can't watch him - it's his home every day while we're at work. The previous review mentioned the access area being a little high for some dogs. Our pup is tall enough to get over it but a few times he's slipped and scared himself when he got excited about getting out, so I usually just unclip the clips that keep the pen together instead of opening the door. Another thing I'd like to mention about this pen - the one we got had the company name on a plastic tag on the side, and our dog chewed that off. If I get another pen that has something that could be chewed off on it I'll remove it myself - don't want to take the chance that he may eat something like that. We love this pen, and take it whenever we travel with our dog so he'll always have a safe play area where he can be off leash.

The best purchase I've ever made on Amazon, and that's saying something!
This product is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I have a chihuahua who's almost 11 years old, and has occasional accidents. Since having the carpeting replaced, and not wanting to put her into a claustrophobic kennel (just seemed wrong), I went for this product. It's so roomy! and the design is feminine, sturdy, lightweight and open. The gate is so well made and very cute and useful.For those of us who work and need to keep our pets in a controlled area when we can't watch for accidents, this pet pen is a lifesaver and my dog absolutely loves it. There's enough room for a oil-filled heater, her large burrow bed and blankets, water bowl, bone-chewing/play area. Also, I sectioned off a small area for her potty pads. This way she doesn't have to "hold it" when I'm gone for longer periods of time. The pen is so roomy, that there's plenty of distance between the potty pads, her bed, and water dish. wonderful product
I purchased this for my little yorkshire terrier to stay in when we all leave the house to go to work. Its wonderful. It is the perfect size and doesnt take up alot of room. My little dog likes to jump up and stand against the walls of this product and they dont fall or shake so it is very sturdy yet very light. It took me a minute to assemble the product and the little door makes it so great we leave it open and my little dog goes in and comes out when he wants. This is a great buy and cheap too.

2 Pugs luv their new pen!
We have 2 full-size pugs that enjoy their new pen. At first I was skeptical if they would not lean on the sides and knock it over as Mini Me weighs 18 pounds and Lexi weighs approximately 12 pounds. They can stand up and lean on the sides with no problem. Currently, I have it in the kitchen so they can watch me cook and clean and it works out great. It is light enough to take down when not in use. I like their new pen because the top is open and I can reach down and pet them and give them their treats without having to open the door constantly. It is large enough that their large bed fits great in the pen with plenty of room also for their play toys. They can watch me work but yet are not under my feet while cleaning. I highly recommend this pen.

Good pen for the money
The pen was just as described. Its not the fanciest pen in the world, but its perfect for my little Yorkipoo. He's about 8 lbs and he couldn't tip it over or anything. He could push the sides though. Also, he climbed out of it the first day. Not the pen's fault though! I'd recommend for any dog owner on a budget. As long as your dog doesn't climb, lol.

Great value for the price
I rescue dogs. I have about 25 in all sizes. I purchased 5 different fences in the last 2 years and these are the best for medium and bigger dogs (i got another set that is less tall but you can lock the individual sections in place see my other reviews)Anyways. I wouldn't put a German Shepherd in it and walk away, but I use this inside the home and it keeps the dogs separated without issue. it's relatively sturdy and reasonably easy to move. And it's tall!

Sturdy, easy to assemble, and it grows with your pet
This is great for indoors if you have an area of flooring you don't mind getting scrathed. Even better outdoors. Our little guy loves this now with just four sides being used. Once he's fully potty trained, he'll love the extra room. This thing grows with him! Very glad I purchased this over a crate.

Works for me
We are hobby breeders of Australian Shepherds and needed a sturdy containment area for the puppies once they reached the stage of climbing out of the whelping box. Puppies are raised indoors and this pen allows for a crate, a private area for their elimination needs, and plenty of play area. It also allows them to get acquainted with sights and sounds of our house. I rate this product four stars as when it arrived a couple of welds in the fence were broken. It is good looking, easy to assemble and has been tested and approved by nine puppies!
