Perfect fit!
I purchased this bag to take my 12 pound puppy on a plane. He fit perfectly in it, and it fit perfectly under the seat. I highly recommend this item! Top to learn more

Good quality, but not big enough for medium to large cat
This carrier looks and feels sturdy and well made. The fleece pad for the floor is soft and cozy looking. The strap is quite comfortable too. I have a medium to large size cat, approximately 11 pounds, and found this carrier much smaller in size than I expected and had to return it. If you have a small dog or small cat, this would be a very nice carrier. I'd suggest measuring your pet's height and length to make sure they'd fit comfortably into it's dimensions before you get this carrier. Top to learn more

Criss-cross the straps...it's great!
We love this carrier! Our dog looks rediculous but he is really comfortable and just hangs out while in it.Here's a tip; if you find the straps slipping off your shoulders, just criss-cross them in the back. The additional support it gives is fabulous and it feels completely secure.Great product and always puts a smile on our faces when we see our dog in it, just too funny!

Pet Carrier Works Well
We carry our 11 lb Maltapoo in this carrier. It works much better than the "basket" type carrier we had been using. He cannot jump out of this carrier, plus it has a hole for his tail.

Great but it depends on size of dog
I bought a medium because all the reviews said that the sizing chart wasnt right. I have a 7lb shih tzu and the medium was too big. The packaging says not to go by lbs exactly because you may have a longer dog needing the medium even tho its less than 10 lbs. So in reality I needed a small. And it would have fit her perfect.

"sling-go" a go-go!
I am convinced the reason it is so difficult to find this product in pet stores (one even told me they didn't think these were made anymore), is because it would make so many other much more expensive (and more cumbersome) ways of porting a small dog around obsolete! I'm not talking about when you need to have the puppers enclosed (like on a bus or plane),but if you're looking to go marsupial with your best-beloved bud, for a quick run to the mailbox in the rain, or anytime you want to keep 'em close and comfy -- and not burden your back over-much -- this is the one! I have hunt around and spent bucks, but neither I nor mine is happier with any other one than this. (Don't you think Outward-Hound should send me a free one now...? No? Oh well, that's okay :)By the way, my dog is a Pekingese who now weighs about 12 lbs and she fits just about right -- but you wouldn't want to go much heavier. Top to learn more

Excellent Product, Highly recommend !!
A woman that is passionate about animals writes this review. We have three 4-year-old Turkish Angora cats that share our home. The cats believe themselves to be human and like to go where their human parents go. Being an overly obsessive cat parent I did not want their little feet on the pavement and purchased this sling. The cats love this thing! They jump inside the pouch and like to poke their heads out and watch where we are going. The pouch is deep enough that they can pull themselves completely into the pouch and take a nap when tired and still feel safe in their little "nest". The top of the pouch has elastic around it that allows it to close up a little around the animal. Because cats like small places this is perfect for a feline. There are two clips inside the pouch that I attach to their harness and leash to make certain that they don't accidentally get loose. The material feels like a heavy canvass on the outside and nylon on the inside. Couldn't be happier
We have a 17 year Dachshund. She's the hardest dog to fit. She's a tweeny, weighing in at 16 pounds, though quite long (just under a foot and a half). She's about 10" tall. We were afraid she might not fight in this sling, but she loves it. She can let her front paw hang down, which she loves to do, and once you've adjusted it for your body, it comfortable to wear for about 45m before having to switch sides. We have a 5 year old golden mix and hate having to leave our old lady at home just because she can't keep up. Now we can let her walk until she's tired and just plop her in here (we always lay a blanket down and an ice pack under if the heat is high). We can even take her on the bike for short, quick-movement-free bike rides. The pack can hang in the front or back or on the hip. There's even a little pocket, though we think it's for a cell phone, we use it for poo bags. I'd recommend this to anyone with a slightly larger small dog. Top to learn more

Toy Poodle loves it!
Oh my gosh! The first time I put my 5 lb toy poodle in this she was a little skeptical. I walked around the house for a minute and then took her out. A little later I brought it out again and she came running over & wanted in it. A few days later when I brought it out again she started jumping up and down in excitement because she wanted in. When I take her out she's usually on a leash. I use this sling if I go to a gardening center or hardware store. They probably wouldn't let you come in with a dog on a leash, but in this little pouch they didn't say a word. We both love it!By the way, the sling was too long for me (I'm 5'3") and my dog was bouncing off my thigh when I walked, so I took it into the cleaners/tailor to have it shortened a few inches. My little girl loves it!
For most dogs, you will need to train your dog to stay in the sling. Those who complain that the dogs might jump out...of course they will at first, until they feel SAFE in the sling! Now my girl, for whatever reason, the MOMENT I put it on she got excited. I picked her up, put her in it and she settled RIGHT into it and was happy as a clam! She weighs about 5.5 pounds and is a chihuahua/chinese crested/naked mole rat/muppet mix. (In other words...we have no idea. For all we know, she may be a cute exotic rat.) Now when she sees it, she gets SO excited. I put it on, bend over, she turns around and backs her little hiney right into it and makes herself comfortable. Keeps her from being underfoot in the morning. Actually the main reason I got it was for dog parks (the big dogs like to play longer than she does, and it keeps her close so we don't have to watch her AND them). One morning I nearly stepped on her for the 456,039,291.5th time and I grabbed the sling. That was all... Top to learn more

Nice product but for very little dogs
This product is made with nice materials and is strong. However please beware - if your pooch is a larger small dog (I have a pug that is quite small, but still around 13 lbs.) please find another option. This is simply not made wide enough to support and cradle the entire animals' body safely. Top to learn more

Our cat carrier of choice
In an emergency, you could bundle kitty into a pillow case to take him to the vet's. I've never tried this, but my friend who volunteers for the Humane Society says it does work. However, you are much better off with a pet carrier, and this one is a good size for all but the largest of cats (I go up one size for my 30 lb. Maine Coon).Another good feature of this particular carrier, is that you can take it apart at the vet's if your cat refuses to come out. You might be surprised at how difficult it is to budge a cat who has all four feet braced against the inside of the carrier.I recommend getting one Kennel Cab per pet just in case you have an emergency, such as a pending hurricane or fire, and have to move all of your animals at once. This model is easy to stack, and easy to clean. Top to learn more

all right by me !!!
Petmate makes an excellent pet carrier for multiple uses for your furry little loved ones! This size is perfect for cats and small dogs that weigh up to roughly 16 pounds, and other pets you may have. This four sides of the carrier have plenty of ventilation; and it's easy to carry and easy to assemble/take apart. In case your pet is skittish about getting out of the carrier when they sense they're at the vet, another reviewer writes that it comes in very handy to have the carrier able to be opened from sides so that the top comes off. That reviewer sure is right! Some pets are extremely reluctant to come out of their kennel carriers. I also love the fact that you can attach the top handle of the carrier to a car safety belt. Excellent! The plastic is quite strong; and when they say its high impact they sure are right! It also has enough room below the "windows" on each side of the carrier so if your pet has an accident it won't necessary spill out from the... Top to learn more

Nice size crate for Yorkie, easy to assemble.
Very nice crate, easy to assemble. Just the right size for my Yorkie that is 10" tall and 9" long (weight 6 lbs.). He has room to stretch out and turn around in comfort. Light weight, very roomy. I highly suggest a fleece pet bed liner, makes it warm and comfy. Top to learn more

Does everything I and puppy need it to do
In response to a previous review, this is cheaper here at Amazon.com than meijer's with shipping by about $6, and has been so for a while.Back to my review:My 6 lb. puppy loves this as both a cozy hide-away at home and as a safe haven in the car. I leave it open in the house so he can go in and out as he pleases, and he sometimes prefers to sleep in it at night and plays in it during the day. He is also a much calmer and more patient traveler now.I love all the vents, five in all, for good airflow, all the access options, its sturdiness and quality, and how easy it is to keep clean. There is a back pouch with a snap that I don't use, but the mesh pocket is perfect for our small water bottle. Securing this with a seat belt in the car takes only about two seconds. Because I bought the size large enough for my pet when he is fully grown (estimated about 9 lbs), it doesn't currently work very well as a carrier (he doesn't fill the entire span of the... perfect car crate
I used to use a sherpa flight bag seat-belted to the car seat but after I needed it out of the way & folded it down, when I needed to use it again it never regained its structure & remained semi-collapsed on top of my dog. This signature car seat soft crate is taller & more comfortable for my dog than a sherpa flight bag -- plus you can easily unzip it & break it down into a flat pack without compromising its structure when you set it up again. With this crate strapped onto the car seat, my dog is protected from sudden stops and also the mesh shades him from direct sun. Its exactly what I was hoping for. (I bought my small aqua one at the meijer's website for $20 less than price on amazon.) Top to learn more

5 Stars unless you have a devil spider cat, 2 stars if you do
Let me start by saying that the carrier is great under most circumstances.Well made, very affordable, comfortable, easy to clean (the mat inside is soft, can be taken out to clean, great idea), well thought out. It opens from the top as well as from the front, and folds up to almost nothing for great storage. There's even Velcro on the front so the front flap can be rolled up and left open to make a little den.Honestly a great product for the most part.I bought two of these carriers to take my two cats out to the desert (a 5 hour drive in traffic at worst) because they were well rated, very affordable and strapped into car seats safely.Everything was perfect up until the point the car started to move.***I ask that "Dog People" don't read the rest of the review because I don't want you to judge cats.Cats are not dogs, and some cats hate the car with a passion and fury that makes M.M.A. look like preschoolers... Taylor, a mail carrier since 2001, said he’s been chased by dogs on numerous occasions, but only bitten twice with both bites minor. Between March of last year and this March, nine carriers were bitten by dogs in Lorain, according to the U. S. Postal Service. Taylor, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Joint Safety Task Force, would like to see the City Council pass an ordinance forbidding dogs from being leashed on front porches or front yards, which he believes would reduce bites. Carriers are given pepper spray and trained to use their mail bags to fend off dogs, but Taylor said it’s not enough. Taylor said he understands dogs are just protecting their turf and get annoyed that carriers return each day.
For dog carriers that rank high for quality and function, but also carry a touch of style and whimsy, check out the carriers featured on Furmypet. Just like cheap purses bought in knock-off stores, cheap dog carriers will wear out rapidly. When searching for fashionable dog carriers you will find the selection is vast, but the quality is typically not very good. Look for a carrier for your canine companion that is sturdy and well-lined, with essentials like supportive padding that can be easily washed, and a built-in safety leash tether to hold your dog securely. Part of being a discerning pet owner means choosing a top-quality carrier that boasts style, functionality and durability.
The Democrats resurrected this nearly thirty year old story about Romney’s dog carrier on the roof of his car. This was pre-dog boutiques, dog beds, dog pedicures era. Back in the day Mitt Romney travelled across country with his dog in a carrier on top of his car. People did not look at it as a crime against humanity to place a dog in a carrier affixed to the car. So the Republicans respond with the recount of the decades old experience of the president having sampled dog meat. The president has admitted eating dog meat as a child. Romney did this during a time when people still regarded a dog as an animal. Rome is burning, and we are standing around wondering who let these dead dogs dominate the political conversation. We’ll know I’m wrong if we hear them tout the healthcare legislation, which we currently hear no one in the campaign utter a word about because the majority of Americans opposed it, mention of the absolute number of Americans who have lost their...
I think she forgot why she wanted a dog (she’s also requested, and I quote, “a squirrel”) because she saw her opening: If President Obama eats dogs and if we aren’t going to keep a dog as a pet, maybe she could get a dog for her dinner plate. I explained that different cultures have different diets and that some people keep dogs as pets while others eat them. I keep explaining to her that we won’t be getting a dog. Mitt Romney ‘s Dog Story :. Lolo was Obama’s step-father during their time in Indonesia. But the point is, Obama ate dog when he was around 10 years old.
