Almost a strop
This is not for basic sharpening, it is too fine for that task. But once you have put an edge to a blade this polishes it to razor sharpness. This used after the more general DMT coarse/fine sharpener will make your knives ready to shave your face. Hint: Fold a piece of paper twice from the corner (like a paper airplane, 90,45,22.5 degrees) to get the correct 22 1/5 degree sharpening angle for your knives.

Sharp as a damn razor. Enough said.
Now i know that the word "razor sharp" is used VERY loosely in the knife industry, but i guarantee that this will get your knife sharp as a damn razor, like shave your face razor sharp. As the other guy said though, its got to have a defined edge already, cause this is just so fine that it would take FOREVER to put an edge back on a knife, and like him i recommend the Coarse/Fine Diafold, or even a coarse bench stone if its really dull. But once this thing has an edge that it can get on, it turns that thing into a [...]mirror. Its a great piece of equipment, and if your an outdoors man and tired of a dull knife, get this and you troubles are over. I myself know its very difficult to skin something with a dull knife, and this solves that right quick and in a hurry. All in all, a great buy and most definitely worth the money.

Two is better than one..........
....and four is better than two. I purchased both the course/fine and the extra fine/extra extra fine. I recommend that combination for virtually any sharpening job.These compact sharpeners have handled knives, chisels, drill bits, hatchets, scissors, garden pruners, and tin snips without a hitch.The sharpeners store in their own handles, require only water (or nothing at all), and 'clean up' with water as well. A terrific little sharpening tool that I use constantly.
