Fast Work
This hammer drill made quick work of installing 600ft of conduit on a 600psi concrete building, it does ten to go through batters but worth the light weight and ability to drill one handed. It is a huge improvement over the 18V drill-driver type hammer drills.

Product Description
Providing corded power without the cord, the DEWALT DC212KA cordless SDS hammer produces an impressive 1.7 foot-pounds of impact energy. The DC212KA is able to blast holes up to 7/8-inch diameter through dense rock, solid concrete, and virtually any other masonry material with speed--and surprising ease. It's powered by DEWALT's 18-volt batteries (two batteries plus 1-hour charger included).

Power and Performance
The DC212KA's high-performance, commercial-grade motor drives the bit at 0-1,100 RPM, and 0-4,100 beats per minute. The factory-set clutch greatly reduces sudden, high-torque reactions if a bit jams in the hole.
Comfort and Convenience
This SDS rotary hammer features DEWALT SHOCKS active vibration control through an internal suspended mechanism, which reduces user fatigue for comfort and productivity. The variable-speed, reversing switch provides precise control throughout use, and a heavy-duty hammer mechanism ensures fast penetration with very low vibration. Weighing 5.25 pounds and measuring 10.5 inches front to back, it's also compact in size and offers an L-shaped design--ideal for overhead use and applications in tight spaces. Other features include a 360-degree rotating side handle for maximum control and an adjustable depth rod for consistently boring exact-depth holes.
DEWALT's XRP Extended-Life Battery System
A tool's only useful if it runs long enough to get the job done, and the DEWALT XRP extended run time batteries keep the DC212KA running at full tilt. They provide up to 40 percent more run time than standard Ni-Cad batteries, and any XRP battery can be used with any 18-volt DEWALT tool, which allows you to expand your system by adding other DEWALT cordless tools (sold separately) as the demands of your job grow.
The DC212KA comes with two 18-volt XRP batteries and a 1-hour charger.
Warranty
This DEWALT tool is backed by three-year limited warranty covering any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship (from the date of purchase). It's also covered by DEWALT's two-year free service contract, where DEWALT will maintain the tool and replace worn parts caused by normal use--for free.

'No Brainer...."
I have been using a corded sds hammer drill for a number of years and have grown tired of lugging an extension cord around jobsites. When I'm working from a 12-foot ladder the extension cord adds significant weight to the drill. Sure; a corded drill hits harder and drills slightly faster, but the disadvantages, at least in my opinion, outweigh the advantages, thus making a battery hammer-drill a viable choice. And in my case the 18 volt model was the logical choice ... I already use a DeWalt 18-volt drill/driver and have plenty of batteries (as well as a 15-minute charger). I can charge five batteries in the evening, carry them with me to work and not have to worry about running out of power all day long. I seldom drill anything larger than 1/4", so I get a lot of holes out of a single charged battery. This is one of the lightest sds battery drills available, too.If you are lucky enough to do all your drilling in a single location, or if you anticipate doing a lot of...
