Get your lazy cats moving!!!
My cats are fat. They needed excersize. Before we got this toy, the only thing that got them moving was the sound of us in the kitchen, or running away from the vaccuum cleaner. It was sad.Now, they can't get enough of this great toy! They run and leap, falling over each other to get to the soft ribbon swishing over their heads. It's completely adorable, and we're glad to finally see them being active, and having fun ~ :)

Makes Cats Crazy
I thought it would be impossible to make a better cat toy than the Cat Dancer until I bought the Cat Charmer for my girlfriend's cats. This thing is like cat crack. Her cats get so crazy playing with this thing that it's hard to tell if they love it or want to kill it. I think it's both. Even her big, fat, nearly 20lb cat was going nuts over this thing.It seems so simple. It's just a fabric ribbon attached to a stick, but there's something subtle about it that makes cats lose their minds. Sometimes they try to attack it and sometimes they just stare at it as if hypnotized. When they try to grab it in their teeth it just slps through. This seems to aggravate them even more. My arm gets tired of whipping it around before they get tired of playing with it.If your cat has front claws, they could probably snag on the fabric, but I can't think of another drawback.

Never woulda thunk it...
We used to spend so much money on cat toys it was absurd. This is the LAST one I will ever buy for a cat. I bought six for Christmas gifts for friends with feline friends, and they all agree - THIS IS THE #1 Cat Toy of the Millenium. Seriously. My cat loves it, drags it around the house and gets the best, healthiest exercise of anything we've ever tried. It has a clear plastic wand that I've stepped on a zillion times and it does not break. The rubber that holds the material on KEEPS the material on it, no matter what. It's sturdy and the colors make it easy to find on the carpets. Turn your adult cat into a kitten again. I am ordering THREE today - more gifts for friends and a back-up for my girl. I sent four to Belgium as gifts, also. THEY LOVE THEM IN EUROPE!

Da' Best Cat Toy I've Every Bought!!!!!!!
Before introducing them to Da Bird, my two indoor cats were none too impressed with any of the myriad of cat toys I had purchased for them. In fact, they were much more enthralled by a plain old drawstring that I had removed from a pair of sweatpants than by any of the various mice, balls, or wand toys that I futilely dangled in front of them. Da Bird, however, has them in an absolute frenzy, so much so that they know it by name. If I even motion toward the living room, where we typically engage in our Da Bird sessions, the cats will come darting in immediately in eager anticipation. I don't know if it's the the colorful feathers, or the spiral flying motion, but something about Da Bird drives my cats wild. I never before had heard my cats growl or hiss, until the first time they each proudly captured the bird in their jaws. Priceless!
This is ESSENTIAL for truly enjoying your cat(s) and having them truly enjoying themselves...it's a cat toy that they'll actually USE, not one that just looks good in the store and then collects dust as soon as you get it home.I discovered it on the cats dot about dot com forum, and it's totally lived up to all the raves it got there. My cats love it!
I have two cats, and these springs are their favorite. They just love batting these around and chasing them, and they never get sick of these inexpensive toys. I suggest buying extras, as these springs get lost pretty easily. I used to buy them at a local store and then was disappointed when the store stopped carrying them. Luckily, I found them on Amazon! These springs end up under furniture, doors, kitchen appliances, and the washer and dryer. You can fetch them out with a yardstick, but these things do have a knack for disappearing. I usually ration them out to my cats until all have disappeared, and then every once in a while, I get out the yardstick and go searching for the lost ones.

Excellent cat toy
My cats love these. I ordered four sets because they go missing for days at a time, only to end up in a cache behind a chair or in the basement. My cats will play with these for hours. Our favorite game is fetch. I toss it, the two little ones bat it about a bit, then one of them brings it back to me for the next round. Having a small black cat walk up to me with one of these sticking up in the air makes all the harder parts of the day just fade away.

Great toy-worth the money
I had recently read an article about aleviating boredom in cats and this product was mentioned so I decided to get one for my young male cat Toby. He played with it almost immediately & rarely walks by it without stopping to send the ball rolling. I have it laid out in a wavy line and it is fun to watch him stalk the ball as it passes the openings. The design is unique as the end pieces are slightly elavated so the ball hits the end & is sent back the other way.

K. Smith's review is spot on. This is a reconfigurable tube with holes. Inside the tube is a ball. The cat puts its paw through a hole and pushes the ball, which goes rolling up and down or around the track. The ball makes a soft noise as it rolls. Some other cat balls can be fit inside. The best we've found so far is plastic balls with jingle bells inside; these are too fragile normally (they get stepped on and break) but very appealing inside this tube. We've also left cat treats, toy mice, and ribbons inside.The tube is very sturdy, up to the riggors of having a cat pick it up and chew on it, etc. Our cats are more likely to play with it if you change the configuration often. Also, this was not obviously a toy to them until we trained them. That is, for the first week we left it in front of the TV, and my daughter or I would play with the ball as we wanted the cat to do. One cat is facinated, one can't be bothered
I'd classify this as one of those "when it works, it really, really works" things.Our lazier cat couldn't be less motivated by the catit play circuit, but our more active cat - holy cow does he love it! Even months later, all you have to do is rearrange the track, then start the ball rolling. He'll come running and wear himself out with it. The funniest is when he bats the ball, then leaps high in the air - like a victory celebration.It's not irresistable, as Cat #1 has proven, but for the right cat, is a very good cat toy. Best Cat Toy Ever
FroliCat Bolt Laser Toy / B0021L8W6KI wasn't too certain about buying this toy for my cats' fifth birthday. I knew that they like to chase lasers, so that wasn't the problem - my concern was that they don't like to STOP chasing lasers. Our last foray into laser pointer territory ended with me letting the laser dot "escape" through an air vent in the wall, thinking that would end the game - no, they just sat vigil under the air vent for five hours. I didn't want a repeat of that.On the other hand, they are housecats and seem pretty bored and listless, and they definitely need the exercise, so I broke down and bought this... and could not be happier.The best thing about this laser toy is that if has a mechanical 'servo' sound - a kind of light-pitched soft whirring and turning whenever it is in operation. Worked OK After Some Help From Customer Service
My cats love laser light toys in general and seem to like this product. Only time will tell if the movement of this particular laser toy will keep them interested in it for a long time. When it arrived the light worked but it would not move automatically. After a call to the toll free customer service number on the FroliCat box, and help from a representative, it worked just fine. The rep told me that mechanism probably became stuck in one place during shipping. She suggested turning the item upside down and then tapping it against a hard surface. I tried it and it began to work immediately. If you find that you have the same problem then you might try this "technique". But be careful not to tap it hard enough to crack the plastic exterior.

Works well, cat loves it, but don't expect random laser movement.
Many other reviewers have described the FroliCat BOLT, so I won't add my own version of that information. My cat loves the BOLT, and every couple of days he will "ask" me to turn it on by pawing at the shelf I keep it on and meowing. If your cat likes chasing lasers (and is not upset, obsessed, or traumatized by chasing something that s/he can't catch), then the BOLT is probably something you will both enjoy.One important criticism that I've seen on only one other review: The BOLT does **NOT** produce automatic patterns. Despite the praise I have for this product, it is disturbing to me whenever a company fails to be completely truthful--and in FroliCat's case, their description of the product is vague (to be charitable). Worse, the box that the BOLT comes in is printed with images that are downright misleading--so if you're buying this based on seeing the box somewhere, then be warned.The description states that the BOLT "automatically generate[s] red laser patterns," and...

frustratingly amazing!
i consider myself relatively creative professionally (am in marketing) so kept making a variety of what i thought would be fun toys for my cat. they ranged from simple to ornate - things you throw, things that move on their own, things that crawl, things that bounce, monochrome/colorful/etc. one day a colleague told me about this product, and from its description (a piece of wire with some wrapped paper) i was incredulous. she swore by it, so i bought it (cant beat the price).......my cat was obsessed. no other toy could distract her and amuse her the way this one did. i'd drag it and whip it around and she'd chase it everywhere. i could wake her from her sleep just by the sound of it rubbing against the rug, and she'd be off and chasing.she NEVER tired of this toy. and our new kitten (and her new friend) took to it right away as well.this 'toy' pissed me off to no end because it was so basic and simple, and yet worked where my ornate and...

Simple, cheap and FUN!
Both of my cats really love this and my wallet adores it because it's cheap as well as being on the fairly durable side as well. My cats are active (they love to play, run after and catch things) and like to play two or three times a day. As several other reviewers have noted, you should keep a light grip/pinch on one end and that's enough to make the other end swing and weave around in the air. Then, just roll your end between your fingertips a bit and it'll bounce a bit and swing around and (hopefully) entice your kitties play with the other end. I've also held it in the middle and let both cats go at their seperate end but it's stiffer that way and doesn't move as much.Boo is about four and half years old and the other, Poxie, is three. Poxie will play with anything that moves (or is shiney and will chew carboard for the heck of it), so she loves it. Ridiculously simple, but elegantly effective
I was super-skeptical when I took this thing out of the bag.It is literally a length of wire with some twisted brown paper bits on the ends (kindof like pieces of the thin round handles on a brown paper shopping bag). There's one piece on the end that you hold, and maybe 4 or so on the target-end for the kitty. The stiffness of the wire is just perfect such that when you hold it lightly, and the cat bats at the end, it bounces and flies all over the place, with near-zero effort on your part. You can, of course, move it some more on your own and entertain the cat with more movement, but it works very well to just hold the wire lightly. I was a little worried that it might poke an eye out or something, but the ends of the wire are bent into loops so that shouldn't happen. It is a stiff, significant-gauge wire though. Really, it's crazy-simple, but really effective. My kitten gets bored with the fancy feather wand I have for him, but he keeps going with the Cat Dancer until...
