Living a litter-free lifestyle
I got a CitiKitty kit last fall as a bit of a skeptic... now I brag about my toilet-trained cat to strangers in the grocery line. The kit is very straight-forward and simple to use. It sits on the rim of your toilet underneath the seat. You fill it with about a quarter-inch of litter and gradually punch out the holes in the middle so your cat will start going in the water and weaning off of litter. (You do have to get flushable litter to use with it.) I took things super slow with my cat and it was only a couple months before we had eliminated litter completely! She sits on the toilet seat and goes right in the water without any problems whatsoever, all I ever have to do is flush. Everyone compares her to the cat in Meet The Parents. I can't even imagine how I used to live with smelly messy litter in my apartment!

In Progress: So far so good.
I have been using CittiKitty for a week now and I will continue to update this review as I go through the process. All you have to do is read a few reviews and you should catch on to the fact that this product will not work on every cat. Some cats are stubborn, picky, stuck in their ways, or simply do not have the brain power to make the transition. So I will not be basing my rating on whether or not it works on my specific cat, but the actual product itself and how well it functions. I skipped some of the opening steps because my cat was already used to having its litter box in the restroom. I simply moved the litter box onto the toilet for one day and then switched to CittiKitty. I have to give fairly high marks for the product construction. It fit my toilet perfectly and is pretty stable. I started using the same litter I have always used, basic Fresh Step clumping litter. My 1 year old cat had no problem using it and never missed a beat. I recommend...

Our experiece with the Litter Kwitter
Customer Video Review Length:: 1:02 MinsWe were quite skeptical about the Litter Kwitter after buying a "CityKitty" a few months earlier which we threw out after a few weeks because there was no way of taking a step back after we physically cut out a larger hole in the plastic. It also was quite "wobbly" for the cat to stand on. Now I know why the Litter Kwitter costs twice the price...it's made of high-quality plastic (the same material as what hard-hats are made of according to the manufacturer) and it's 3 rings mean you can go back a step if needed. Anyway, after asking the very patient folks at Cleverlad Pets 8 questions about the product, we finally decided to buy one and we are very impressed with our cat's progress in using it most of the time after a few weeks. After getting him to use the tray on the floor for a couple of weeks with the red ring, we moved it up onto the toilet and then changed to the orange ring on week 3...I think we probably were a little too...

This product would be 5 stars if I didn't think that it needs to have an ice cream tub, or some other pan in my toilet, McGiver-ing the thing so it works right. I researched how best to potty train my cats, and decided to try the litter kwitter, as it seemed the most sturdy. I, like other reviewers, felt that the step where the hole is first introduced was too big a step. Here are my tips that I think really help you to avoid any accidents, by creating steps that they don't tell you about that have worked for me. After every time I made a change, either moving their cat box, or changing a ring, I waited a week at least before moving on to a new step. I originally started out by moving their cat box right up next to the toilet. I then put some phone books under it, so they had to step up to get in it. I then put their cat box on an ice chest with stuff inside to weight it down (in case they jumped into it) that made the entrance the same height as the toilet seat, so my cats...

A MUST for cat owners
First things first: I was a bit reluctant to try the CatGenie because of the mixed reviews of the first model. If I make a large purchase (anything over 50 bucks), I'm researching the HELL out of it first. Usually I check reviews from Amazon, Yahoo Shopping, Consumer Search, epinions, you name it. I live by this method - in the (almost) decade that I have been using the internet to aid in my product searches, I have not yet made a purchase that I regret. This goes triple for the CatGenie 120. They don't sell the older model anymore, which I think is good; I might have been tempted to save a few bucks, but I'm glad that I didn't. The 120 has given me no problems at all. A little background: I have 3 adult cats (two female, one male, all "fixed") and a smallish house (2 bedrooms - one I use as an office - and one bath), and not a ton of space, which means that the cat box 'thing' was always an issue. Excellent, No-Maintenance Solution... Much Improved Over The Original
I have had 2 original Catgenies for about 3 years (I would recommend more than 1 Catgenie for any household that has more than 3 cats)... I was one of the first 100 or so owners of it. I had problems here and there over the years, but overall the original Catgenie has allowed me to take care of my 4 cats with my busy schedule and minimal effort. If I were to buy the first generation categnie over again I certainly would despite the problems I had with those units. Now Enter the Catgeine 120: I was part of the testing program for the new 120 unit. Petnovations sent me 1 unit awhile back to replace 1 of my original units. I recently sent this test unit back to receive one of the production 120 units. Since receiving the production unit 8 weeks ago I have not had any errors, not a single problem! An outstanding concept, which delivers far more than the 1st generation
First, I must admit I am hooked on this product, despite all of the many problems I USED to have with the 1st generation (see my 3 star review for the 1st generation, Cat Genie [60]) - try it, being forewarned that it might require a bit of effort up front, depending on your hook up connection, and the cats' affinity for using the unit. However - at least so far - the integrated Genie 120 has few, if any, real problems left. It is a true, self-cleaning box, unlike every other box on the market. ... for me, the ability to go on short vacations without worrying about or asking someone, to change litter, is a godsend. Product not secure on the toilet
I was really excited about this product!! I was determined to toilet train my cats. We, my two cats, got through the first step with absolutely no trouble. The second step went well too, though I didn't like how the urine leaked between the toilet seat adapter and the training disks. After the first two stages we moved onto the third. Well, this step was disastrous!! One of my cats knocked the trainer into the toliet. That was the end of the training. One of the cats wouldn't go near it after that. I tried to start over to see if the cat needed to gain confidenance again, but that didn't help. The cat proceeded to poop/pee in the bath tub, on my bed, or on the bathroom floor. After a few days of the cat peeing on the bathroom floor I put the litter box back out and put the trainer away. I don't recommend this product if your cat is easily scared.

Best out there
So far, I have not found better. They do a great job making sure that the litter flows like sand. Other ones I've tried are full of pebbles causing a mess and a lot of pain when you step on it. This one has very few issues and our cat gravitates towards it.

My cats favorite litter!
Something about this litter... My cats get cranky if we don't have it. And so do I because it is one of the rare ones that is flushable; clean and no odor left around. Need to keep an eye out for the delivery deals though, it is pricey to ship. It had been available in my local stores but no longer is so I must order.

A good flushable cat litter overall
This is my first time using a flushable cat litter, so I my only basis of comparison is the non-flushable products. The Better Way product clumps together effectively but if you shake the clumps, like when scooping them with a litter strainer, they can start to come apart. I'm sure this is due to the fact that to be flushable it needs to break apart. When dumping into the toilet it is important to let it soak for a few minutes if there is a large amount. The odor of the sanel, the "natural cat attractant" is a bit disturbing at first for my cats since they've always used unscented litter. Inspite of this, one of my cats could not resist the smell as I poured the first bag into her box, so she jumped right in, dug around, and had a pee. I guess it really is a natural attractant.
