Effective Treatment, Reasonable Price
I have several cats -indoors and out- and all of them ended up with fleas this year. In the past Frontline has worked just fine, but not this year. It seems like this year has been a horrible year for fleas, either because the fleas are simply worse or older flea preventatives and treatments aren't as effective. After talking with other pet owners I decided to try Advantage. Two of my cats are very allergic to flea bites and were looking and feeling pretty bad until I used Advantage. Within a day of treating all of the cats, there were fewer live fleas on the cats and most of the remaining fleas were dying. I have to note that none of my cats had any allergic reaction from the treatment. A couple of them scratched and licked as fleas came up to the surface, but I kept combing the dying fleas out and the scratching/licking stopped fairly quickly. It's been a week, and the two who are allergic to flea bites are looking better, and none of the cats are licking and...

Flea Free
We have been an Advantage family for years. I help foster animals for a rescue and one of my new guys came in with fleas, which quickly spread to the rest of the crew. A day after applying Advantage to everyone and they were flea free. 2 of my fosters are under the 9lb limit for the purple pack, so I looked up the specs of the orange pack and it is just 1/2 a dose of the purple. I just split one of the tubes between the 2 petite cats and everything worked out without having to buy an extra box.

Better than Frontline
The new Advantage II working much better on our cats than the Frontline II: no fleas x 4 weeks so far. Also cats did not flinch when we put it on the Advantage II. With Frontline, it seemed to sting their skin and we had to do a 2 person hold to get the stuff on. Everyone is very happy with Advantage II at our house. Very quick shipping by Amazon, better price than the vet and the vet supply company we have used in past.

finally something that does what it says
been down the road with flea and tick collars. Most seem to work when they are new. After the first month it's down hill all the way. Also, after having problems with another brand and was looking for something that was vet recommended. This comes with that recommendation. However the proof is in the pudding as they say -- or in this case the pussy cat. This stuff does what is say. It stops fleas.So do your pets the favor. They will thank you. It's given once a month on their shoulder blades. Nothing I have ever used works this good. Enough said. Caution: Some cats get determined to twist themselves in a pretzel to lick this. I can caused them to foam at the mouth and make them hyper for about 24 hours after. Solution is easy. Take an old sock and trim the toes for an opening for kitty's head and the cut two arm holes. INCREDIBLE !!!!!! I've used powders, I've used flea dips and flea shampoos and sprays flea combs.I then even resorted to garlic in their diets and on their fur..........nothing worked. Then I tried Frontline, with my discouragement. Fleas are tough ! Frontline got rid of my ENTIRE FLEA PROBLEM.

Works well for my cat
Apparently some cats and dogs respond badly to this medication, but it works wonderfully for my cat. She weighs just 10 pounds, so I give her half a tablet (I cut them apart in a regular pill cutter) and any fleas she's picked up fall off and die. My vet explained to me that the chemical in Capstar isn't recognized by the animal's body - it just passes through without being absorbed and broken down. It comes out as a gas through the pores of the skin, and acts on the fleas like cyanide gas acts on people. It's instantly lethal to the fleas. Unfortunately, when the fleas get the first whiff of gas, they respond by biting REALLY HARD in a reflexive reaction. Some cats and dogs who have several fleas may experience sudden very hard bites in many areas of their bodies, which could account for the jumping around and panting. It doesn't feel very good. Really Works
Was using Frontline for years until last summer. It just wasn't working any more. I was having a hell of a time trying to rid my three cats and dogs of fleas. This product did the job! I actually saw the dead fleas falling off. I now use Revolution to keep it that way!

Great as an initial attack on fleas!
I got this product because we suddenly had a flea infestation on both my cats and my chihuahua. It worked great to kill the adult fleas and started within about 2 hours. But I would VERY strongly recommend that you have a long term treatment immediately available. I bought a topical solution as well but it had not been delivered yet and the flea eggs already on my dog hatched in the meantime. My dog was COVERED in fleas the day after! I gave him another dose and applied the topical solution and now he is flea-free. YOU WILL NEED SOMETHING TO KILL THE EGGS ALSO!!!

I originally purchased Frontline Plus from another website. Within two weeks my 2 cats were suffering from fleas again. Someone recommended that I try Advantage II. Several hours after applying Advantage, my cats stopped scratching and were comfortable again. It has been 3 weeks since the first application and all is well. I will definitely use this product again. Tip: In addition to this product, I vacuum my floors and rugs everyday.

Seems to have worked : D
I was worried about using this on my cat because I've never used anything on her before. She's up there in years...but the fleas were making her scratch like crazy. I felt so bad for her, that I decided to try this product out. Well, it seems to have worked because I haven't seen her scratching herself! She didn't have any side effects either. Great Stuff, better then Advantage I.
Great stuff works quicker then the older Advantage. I have an older cat with thinning hair and in less then 5 minutes fleas were surfacing but unlike the older stuff these fleas weren't dizzy and in their last throws they barely made it to the top of his thin hair and died. Great stuff and my cat hasn't scratched since. Also this may only apply to a select few but the tubes when you open them are silent now instead of making a little noise. I write this because my cat became very aware of this sound and knew it was coming, hated it, hated me for a week, and tried to lick it. This time with a little milk and my silent tube I was able to apply it to his neck without him knowing.

Hurray it works!
After struggling with Frontline brand flea treatments and getting NO where -- I tried this brand and got instant results - no kidding, within an hour I was combing out dead fleas from my kitty's coat and finally he's gotten some relief from the itching and irritation of biting fleas. I wish I had purchased this brand first and I wouldn't have had to spend 3 months applying a poison that never worked. In fact, I think the fleas like Frontline. I must say that in the past I've had no problems with Frontline and it worked, but not this year -- staring in February I applied the Frontline but it had no effect that I could see. One hour after an Advantage application and I knew I was on the right track. Also, I have a large cat and Bayer makes two dosages - one for under nine pounds and one for over nine pounds which I used.

Great product for my cats. Works better than Heartline everytime.
All the local vets stopped carrying Advantage II for one reason or another. Mainly because they said it was inferior to everything else on the market and that it didn't kill ticks. Well, my indoor only cats don't have a problem with ticks. They get fleas that come into the house on the firewood in winter. Then the flea allergy kicks in. Advantage II is the ONLY product that I've used on my two ten year old cats that actually kills fleas. I mean you can see them falling off and dying within an hour. Can't do better than that. PLUS, you can use it more often than once a month IF you need to. I like that flexibility. Seller did a great job of getting the item out promptly.

Keeps our cat happy!
Works really well. Frontline wasn't doing the job for our cat, and he has terrible allergies. A few days after applying the product, the cat seemed MUCH happier, and his scabs were already showing signs of healing. I don't know what we would have done without this product! Advantage has always been the miracle ointment
If you've ever used it, you don't have to be told. The stuff works and works miraculously. After a season or two's consistent use, even in my multi-cat times, the flea problem seems to diminish; my theory is that they get gradually killed off in the vicinity of the house. The other reason for 5 stars is the Amazon price: on 5/7/2010 I priced it at three pet stores in the eastern area of San Diego and all stores were between $56 and $58; Aamzon is quoting $38 for the same size and dose. A no brainer.
