Granddaughter
I bought Wild Blue for my Granddaughter. She is 14 and loves horses and reading horse stories. Breyer products are superior in craftmanship and last for many years. She loved the horse and the book. She collects the Breyer horses and has never been disappointed.

A great addition to the collection
My 8 year old just loves collecting Breyer horses, and for her having a book to compliment the toy really brings it to life. I plan on purchasing more of these book/ horse box sets as soon as she has finished reading Wild Blue.

Product Description
Introducing The Breyer® Horse Collection; a new horse series from Macmillan Children's Publishing Group and Breyer. Wild Blue: The Story of a Mustang Appaloosa, by acclaimed author Annie Wedekind, follows Blue, a roan filly, the color of rain, who stands out for her distinctive coloring and her intelligence. Surrounded by her beloved family, including her gentle sister Doe, and protected by her father, the band stallion, Blue lives a life both harsh and beautiful in the rugged terrain of an undiscovered habitat. That all changes though, when Blue and Doe are suddenly, inexplicably captured by rogue cowboys, setting in motion a chain of events that inadvertently threatens the very survival of their hidden, secret herd. Beautifully packaged with each novel is the Breyer portrait model of the horse hero. Sets include soft-cover editions (Age: 9). Praise for Wild Blue... "Deftly and tenderly, without being overly sentimental, Wedekind describes the subtleties of horse instinct and communication. Horse fans and animal lovers will embrace this book with unbridled enthusiasm. It deserves a place next to Marguerite Henry or even Jack London on young readers' bookshelves." - School Library Journal Top to learn more
