Great for Apartments
I have this feeder placed right outside my window of my ground floor apartment. I originally got it for the cats' entertainment, and am glad I did.I originally had a feeder bell hanging from the second floor apartment's balcony, but decided it wasn't enough.I purchased this feeder for the sparrows and used the cheapest bird feed available. After I switched to sunflower seeds only I am now getting sparrows, finches and starlings. The down side being that the perches were not designed for starlings so they have to reach around to one of the other holes to get their food.Anymore, I can get 5 or so on it at once with two or three hanging out on the chain it hangs from waiting in line.I really love this little feeder and have had it since December '08. Never once had a problem with squirrels, but it may be because of the way I have it set up.

Good price -- and the birds love it
It's sturdy, it's inexpensive, and the smaller birds can poke their beaks right to the bottom of the feeder to get all of the seeds. (The last vertical feeder we had always had leftovers at the bottom that the birds couldn't reach.) And the price is decent. A nice addition to the back yard.

Pleasantly Suprised!
Well, after reading lots of reviews about similar products, I decided to purchase this one- even though some had stated that it wasn't very good. First let me point out that there are no directions with this feeder- so really it's best to follow the advice of others that have posted reviews as far as the best way to hang the feeder. I put the feeder up, put in some food, and waited. A few hours later we heard a crash! I was horrified that my brand new feeder had crashed down and shattered into a billion pieces. I should probably add that I live in a dormitory on the third floor with both grass and cement below us. I was very relieved to find the feeder still completely in tack...and was able to find the suction cups nearby as well. I then went back and found some of the reviews that suggest how to prepare the window and suctions cups so the feeder will stay in place. I washed the window very well, and washed the suction cups in warm soapy water. I let both air dry completely...

A great little feeder
Customer Video Review Length:: 0:04 MinsI have been pleasantly surprised with this little feeder. As you can see in the video clip, the feeder can be filled to the brim with seeds and hold 2 birds and still not fall. In fact, I have had two of these feeders on my windows for well over three months and have yet to have them fall off. The birds enjoy eating out of these feeders - despite the fact our cats leap into the window trying to attack them. They provide hours of entertainment.

Birds and people love it
Customer Video Review Length:: 0:04 MinsInstallation was a breeze. I cleaned the window well, then stuck on the suction cups.It didn't take the birds long to find it. We've had Chickadees, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Titmouse, and more.We have a cat that often sits in that windowsill and it doesn't deter the birds from eating. (Don't worry, the window is always closed, and he can't get to the birds.)

GREAT item (Gazebo Feeder)
I purchased this after our platform feeder finally turned into too big of a mess to deal with. The birds LOVED it, and flocked to it, so I was a little hesitant about replacing it with a "normal" feeder but decided to give it a go.This Gazebo feeder is VERY substantial and well-made. It is plastic, but much sturdier than some wood bird feeders we have. We *don't* have squirrels here in Southwest Florida so I can't tell you if it's squirrel-proof or not.I was going to have my husband mount the bird feeder on a pole, but it came with sturdy materials for hanging (including a bracket and thick coated wire), so we decided to hang it by one of our front windows and see if the birds would still come. A Good First-Time Bird Feeder!
This is a good buy for someone purchasing their first bird feeder. The pole which is enclosed is rather flimsy and not that tall, so for security you really need to replace it. By all means, purchase a squirrel guard, because if squirrels get up on the feeder, which they will, they not only eat all the seed but they also severely gouge the bottom tray and seed falls out more easily. If you're really serious about a bird feeder, then I would try one that is sturdier.

Squirrels! Gr!
I bought this bird feeder for my mother as a mother's day gift. As such, the majority of this review is second hand information, although I have had the pleasure of watching birds eating from it on my own a few times.I live in the Northeast, and the few times that I've seen the birdfeeder in action I've seen primarily cardinals and orioles, as well as a small brown bird (I have no idea what type of bird this one was). The birdfeeder is always busy, the birds really seem to love it. My mother said she has also had quite a few blue jays, along with random mixes of other birds. So the birdfeeder is definitely a hit. There is a drawback however. Squirrels readily found the birdfeeder, and for about a month birds were unable to eat out of it as the squirrels would steal everything. There are ways to combat this problem, and after trying a couple of the solutions she found online, my mother hit upon one that worked, which basically consists of hanging the birdfeeder from...

Birds like my feeder
This feeder is attractive, easy to use and functional. The only thing I don't like, and maybe this is just my seed, but the birdseed sometimes gets stuck in the openings so I have to go in with my finger to get the birdseed to come out again. Other than that, can't complain.

Really good feeder!
Great feeder - I did a lot of research about squirrel-proof options, and this one has been great. Bought two - one for me and one for my dad, and we both love it. Attracts tons of birds, looks good, easy to fill and maintain, and really does keep out the squirrels. Highly recommend!

Great feeder for birds that really keeps critters out
I used to have squirrels eating the contents of my feeder on a daily basis which was costing a fortune in seed. Because the feeder is hanging from a pole off of a second story deck, the baffle I tried prevented access from the top but they were still able to jump from the deck rail directly on to other feeders and clean them out. Raccoons were able to do the same at night unless I took the feeder inside. This feeder is really heavy duty, and the squirrels have given up. I have not had to take this one in during the evenings like I used to because the raccoons have not been able to get to the seed either. I did add a clear baffle on top of it in order to keep the rain out of the seed in the tray since the roof does not extend that far out. The seed tray is big enough for larger birds such as mourning doves to eat however the blue jays seem to have a hard time with it too. Doves as well as cardinals, chickadees, titmice & all varieties of finches have all been enjoying it. Great...

Bird feeder of a refined design.
Functional design, attractive and with solid construction. I noticed no uneaten seed falling from this feeder. The design of the hoppers may keep birds from scattering uneatten seed, which could contribute to substantial savings! I would highly recommend this feeder.

You can't buy a better feeder
This feeder is the best I've had, and I have had a bunch. It has a huge capacity so you don't have to fill it very often. It is almost impossible for squirrels to stand on and if they manage to get a foothold their weight closes the feeding ports so they can't get anything. You can adjust it to exclude large birds such as starlings and grackles. When it needs to be cleaned you just put it in the dishwasher. When an especially crafty squirrel tried to chew it's way in to my feeder I informed Brome about the damage and they sent me a replacement part for free! Squirrel busters have a lifetime warranty against squirrel damage. I have had mine for about 3 years and couldn't be happier with it. If you only have one bird feeder in your life this should be the one.

The best feeder!
This is the second Squirrel Buster feeder I've bought. I've had the first one for over five years and am replacing an old feeder (not a Squirrel Buster). This feeder is the best feeder made to discourage squirrels from emptying seed. Our area is loaded with squirrels and they have tried everything to get to the seed in the feeder, with no luck. One time they did damage the feeding ports in an attempt to get at the sunflower seeds and when I contacted the company, they sent me a new part at no charge. Another time these darned squirrels actually chewed on the metal lid and again, the company sent me a new part. I would not hesitate to recommend this feeder to anyone, especially if you are bothered by raiding squirrels. The feeder is well made and holds quite a bit of seed (I use sunflower seeds in it)and is very easy to clean. It is well worth the cost. The customer service I've received from this company is absolutely top-notch.

Don't let the high price scare you...
My issue isn't squirrels, it's starlings and grackles. They'll empty a feeder in a day or two and keep the 'desired' birds from feeding. This feeder thwarts these pest birds better than any other feeder or feeder cage that I've tried. The smaller birds have no trouble getting to the seed and we've even had a pair of cardinals feed for the first time in the three years we've been feeding. I'm thoroughly satisfied so far with this item and am buying one for my father and one for my sister. Highly recommended.----Update----It does indeed deter squirrels as well, I watched one try again and again to acess this feeder to no avail. However, the local starlings have learned to grasp the cardinal ring and flap enough to partially open the feed ports (clever little buggers). The cardinal ring will be removed to eliminate that issue. The versitility of this feeder is wonderful.
