BEST tank aquarium
My Betta fish looks extremely happy into this 3g tank; I just regret I didn't buy the 5g version. The Whisper Micro Filter works SO good, it has a Flow Control system which allows me to select a very low flow, perfect for bettas!Unfortunately, the tank comes with a "medium" size filter, which is way TOOOOO big for the small tank. I know there is a "small" version of the Whisper Micro Filter, so I don't understand why Tetra didn't bundle it with this tank instead of the Medium size. :-SThe tank itself looks crystal clear, acrylic made, very resistant, and easy to clean. I recommend you to buy a special acrylic cleaner sponge since regular sponges will scratch it.I was speechless when I first turned the LED Lighting Lamp ON, it is magnificent! Perfect room lightning at night. LEDs technology is awesome, it doesn't only lights better, but it saves a lot of energy compared to regular bulbs.I love all Tetra products! They are...

Quiet with a small footprint
This 3 gallon tank has been great. The filter is very quiet, but is very powerful. The tank has not required much cleaning because the filter is rated for tanks much bigger than 3 gallons. The downside is that the filter itself is big, so it takes up more room in the tank. The shape of the tank allows for a great presentation, but it does not take up much room. The only complaint I have with the tank is the the top that is provided does not fit on very easily. Overall a great small tank!!!

Adorable
This item is very cute and much more reasonably priced than similar products. It was much larger than I was expecting and the person I gifted it to absolutely loved it.

Great for 4yr olds !!
This is perfect for our 4 yr old daughter, she loves anything with "fishies",so this was a great present for her ... ours came with a low water level, but after a few days, we heard something that sounded like a "drain" and it was the toy, I guess something got stuck on it and held the water back, now it's 100 % full and still very cute.

Cute.
Because of multiple regulations, I am not allowed to have anything organic in my office, which meant no bowl of live fish. I have several simple and colorful puzzles and toys that my adult clients enjoy fiddling with when they are talking with me. This just expanded their choices. It reminds me of a rain stick that you can not only hear but also see. Very mediative to turn, hold, and watch.

Not bad, but not awesome
I bought this kit for my first aquarium set-up in my office which has no windows. All of the pieces are pretty cheap and flimsy feeling, but that's a given seeing how I only paid $10 for everything. In the box, I received an air pump, air line tube, light hood, tank, filter plate, air diffuser, riser tube, and three different paper documents. The directions are pretty straight forward and easy to understand, but I had to research the extraneous details like how to make the water safe for the fish. Once I finally set everything up (about an hour to get it right), the Betta fish was pretty happy and everything looked good. No leaks! The kit comes with a 90-day limited warranty and a notice that you cannot return the product to the store. To make any returns or exchanges, they want you to work directly with the manufacturer. I don't know how easy or hard this would be since I didn't need to return or exchange.Cons:1. I don't like that the filter plate is so...

OK for kids' room
I bought two of these aquariums today to keep in each of my kids' rooms. They have both been asking for their own pet, so thought I'd start simple and let them keep a betta fish in their rooms. The aquarium looks fine, gives large viewing area to see the fish. I do like that it came with a small lamp and pump, something not always included with aquariums this small. The tank is made of pretty brittle and flimsy plastic. Nothing has gone wrong, but I don't expect it to last long. The lid is ill-fitting, so must be very careful replacing it. I am surprised at the price on Amazon and online pet retailers, I paid half as much at the local big-box for identical product.Overall, it will do fine for the kids' first pets, may even last a few years.

Good little tank
Received this as a gift, and bought a 3 month old "Betta Baby" from Petco for it. So far, Darbie absolutely loves his tank, swimming all over and loves to hide in the little hollow barnacle ornament I got for him. The tank's footprint is small (about the size of a sheet of printer paper cut diagonally) so you can't really put much in it. Here's a little information on all the parts included:Tank: Mine actually feels fairly sturdy, and so far I haven't had any issues with the plastic fogging up like I have with other acrylic tanks. Also, it's not blue like the picture unless you put a blue background or blue gravel in it. You're only going to want 1 lb of gravel; I've got two in there and it's a little too much.Hood and light: The plastic plate to keep fish from zapping themselves on the light is sturdy and fit snugly inside the hood housing; you've really got to press it in there. You'll know it's seated right when there's about 1/4" between the edge of...

Good decor at cheap price
This decor looks good and for 10 pieces you can't beat the price. At local walmart, one decor goes from $3 to $15 it's ridiculous.

I love these plants
They look amazing and so life like. The plants are a great deal. They spread out and you can design them however you want pretty much. I took a couple and layer a branch down flat, buried some rocks over it and the green stems stick up through the rocks. Gives it a little different look. I have a 10 gallon tank and this amount of plants is perfect to fill up the empty space. These are a great product. They stay submerged with no floating issue. Thanks.

Look nice, kind of a pain.
They are gorgeous decorations, but kind of difficult. The leaves sliced my hand open when I was putting them in the tank. They also fought going to the bottom and had to be forced down.

It's alive!
I read the first review and was put off but after having one for a month and loving every bit of it I have to tell everyone this tank is NOT big enough for Goldfish but it is PERFECT for Guppies and other small fish. When buying my fish it was easy enough to ask the man at the pet shop what would thrive in such a small habitat. I was given several fish that would work but this Guppy caught my eye, since then he's been my desk buddy. He is happy as can be and I have no complaints. It adds life to my otherwise sterile lifeless desk.Bottom line: I love it! (don't use goldfish dummy)

Product Description

Anyone can put a pencil holder on a desk - why settle for that when you can have something infinitely cooler, like this USB-powered desktop aquarium. The ingenious design recirculates and aerates the water, while the integrated color changing LED lights provide a captivating display. But that's just the beginning, since this caddy also features an adjustable overhead light, LCD calendar with time, day/date and weekly temperature function, along with a working alarm clock with snooze feature and countdown timer. It even provides soothing nature sounds if you'd like. It might be more productive than you are, but we'll keep that our little secret. Tank includes under gravel filtration system, decorative gravel and a plastic fern. Operates through USB power connector. You'll have to provide your own fish. Top to learn more

Good but not perfect.
The first one I received had a leak at the base of the water spicket where the water goes back into the tank. It got water all in the accessory holder side and it leaked onto my desk. These things happen. The replacement works well enough but it has a flaw as well, but not worth me making a second return. The temperature gauge is wrong. It claims it is 81.5 degrees. I don't know if it's supposed to be outside temp or water temp, but either way that is impossible. It is 70 degrees in my house and there is no heater in the tank. It is out of the sunlight and the water is cool. I also expected the screen backlight to be on like in the picture, but it only comes on if you're changing settings. The USB cord is ridiculously short. I needed an extension usb cable. This is a neat little tank, however. It is good for one small fish, like a guppy, tetra, or glofish. It is NOT good for a goldfish or a better. It is too small, plus goldfish are really dirty fish, especially for a...

Nice with a little modification.
This is a very nice looking little tank, I have had mine for about a month and it is still going strong. I have 2 ghost shrimp and a mystery snail housed in mine. I would not recommend putting anything much bigger in there. You might be able to get away with a couple small tetras or guppies tho.It is a very small tank, so do not expect to house a goldfish or beta humanely in this.(as the above ranter mentioned goldfish need way more space and are really dirty fish so need a powerful filter) Their is no actual filtration on this tank when it arrives , so my water began to get a bit cloudy after a week. I added a bit of activated charcoal and a biosponge underneath the plastic grate that holds the gravel off of the pump so that the water has to be pulled through that before it is pumped back to the top and my water has been crystal clear since. I also cut a small square of black plastic mesh to make a little lid for this so my critters could not escape, and to keep my cats...

Aquarium Fish Tank

Fish that may be considered candidates for a breeding tank are freshwater fish that scatter their eggs. If you want to successfully breed your tropical fish, you may want to invest in a rearing tank to raise the fry. It is best you put the mommy and daddy fish in the rearing tank before the eggs are laid because it is must better to catch the mommy and daddy than hundreds of fry. This is the reason why you may want to have them lay their eggs in a rearing tank and remove the female after she lays her eggs. Another tropical fish that is a candidate for the rearing tank is those that are very protective of their nest after the eggs are laid, such as the Blue Three Dot Gourami. If this is what you want, then you may want to consider a rearing or breeding tank to mate your breeding pair. For example, those freshwater fish that take care of their fry will not need a breeding tank. You may not need a rearing tank for all freshwater fish.

Moss Tank . Picking Out Aquarium Plant Life For The Aquarium When held in an aquarium plants perform many tasks. Just one florescent tube just isn’t normally enough to encourage the growth and survival of plants inside of a tropical aquarium, if your aquarium lacks sufficient lighting then you certainly should look at adding additional lighting on the tank. Many believe leaving the fish tank lighting on for extended periods during the day will help with the development of plants, this is untrue. An aquarium tank which has been planted looks a great deal more appealing and natural than one which has not. Plastic plants are also beneficial when held in a fish tank as they provide a large area in which beneficial bacteria can grow and establish themselves.

Fish tank set up can be a bit hard but once it is done properly your fish will surely thrive and be happy living in it. Fish eat and they also need to get rid of their body waste and they do this all inside the fish tank or bowl. To properly monitor the levels of nitrogen in your fish tank for your tropical fish it is best to buy the test kit for it. An accurate detection of ammonia levels is important therefore buying the right test kits is essential. Your way to succeed is with the appropriate execution of the Nitrogen cycle when you get your own fish to make sure they might survive inside the fish tank. A fish tank can start its nitrogen cycle without the use of any kind of fish as this had been proven to be possible. To use antibiotics for the infected fish, take them out first and put them in a different fish tank. If the fish tank’s water becomes cloudy then it is the right time to change the water. Having your own tank set up for tropical fish is a great start for owning your own pets. Foods in the water inside the fish tank will decompose and the decomposition is releasing ammonia. Managing your fish tank properly is the best way to prevent wasting your efforts and hard earned money so you have to do it right. Toxic ammonia is the result of the wastes produced by the fish in the tank and it breaks down in just a few hours. If you add antibiotics to your fish tank, it will not just kill the bad bacteria but also the beneficial ones.
